  • Data or Creativity: The Real MVP? Ever feel like you’re stuck between two worlds—data-driven decisions on one side, and pure, unfiltered creativity on the other? It's been on our minds this week at Hydra Digital. We all know data can tell a story, but the question is: Does it limit our creativity? Dharma Wood says that "coming from a place of learning I have found that data is what makes me creative. Yes an initial marketing idea is always fun to execute but after receiving data it pushes me to make more decisions and changes to our initial approach almost forcing me to come up with creative ideas to do better." Matthew Cage thinks Data and power is creativity with insight. "If you expect the data to tell you what to do you can become a slave to the data, of course, so the result is dependent on each persons ability to get the insight they need and apply the context appropriately. But Data isn't everything there is so much that we dont capture. Theres things in marketing we dont even capture any data on, but I believe tactics like A/B testing for example is about testing creativity not working to adapt."   • Is Authenticity the New Currency in Marketing? 💡💬 As we wrap up the week, one topic that sparked some lively discussions in the office was the growing importance of authenticity in marketing. With consumers becoming increasingly savvy, they’re not just looking for products or services—they want to connect with brands that resonate with their values and beliefs. Matthew Cage jumped in with a thought-provoking point: “Personal data needs to be collected.
