More than a third of Australians now live in regional areas, and millennials are leading the move away from cities. That’s why housing policies supporting regional growth are so important. At today’s VIC Housing Roundtable in Bendigo, hosted by HIA, Senator Bridget McKenzie announced the Coalition’s $5 billion Housing Infrastructure Program. The plan includes a critical 30% allocation to boost regional housing supply. The funding targets “last mile” infrastructure—sewers, electricity, water, and roads—that often makes or breaks housing projects. These bottlenecks can delay new homes by months or even years. By addressing these roadblocks, this funding will help builders get to work sooner and meet the growing demand for housing in regional Australia. #letsbuild #HIAmember

HIA brought industry and policymakers together today at a housing roundtable in Liverpool, NSW. Senator Andrew Bragg, the Coalition’s Assistant Minister for Housing Supply, and Sam Kayal, the LNP candidate for Werriwa, joined us to tackle Australia’s housing challenges. Senator Bragg outlined the Coalition's multi-pronged housing plan which will be a key plank for them heading into the next Federal election. HIA's Simon Croft highlighted the importance of well-targeted policies across numerous areas of government to address Australia's housing shortages and the need to remove the roadblocks to let builders get on with building the homes Australia desperately needs. #letsbuild #HIAmember
