Every once in a while, you meet someone who redefines how we think about building products and solving problems. On this week's DevReady Podcast, Andrew hosted Serena Lam , Founder & CEO of Fuzzy Sequence 🚀—a company transforming sales automation.   Serena’s “Wizard of Oz” approach to testing prototypes is pretty impressive. Instead of building before testing, she flips the script: manually delivering value to customers to validate solutions before scaling with automation. It’s agile thinking at its finest and a strategy any startup can learn from.   In this episode, Serena shares invaluable lessons about aligning roadmaps with customer feedback, thinking lean, and tackling big challenges in sales automation. Whether you're an entrepreneur, a product strategist, or just love innovation stories, this conversation is pure gold.   Dive into the full episode—links in the comments. And for those shaping roadmaps and strategies, check out DevReady.Ai. Founder @ Fuzzy Sequence (Iterative S23) | Helping Sales Teams get more meetings booked

Saying "No" would have cost me the experience of a lifetime. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. 🏀 Just over a month ago, I was chatting with my friend Vikram about Fuzzy. Out of nowhere, he pulled out his camera and said, “Tell me about your startup, and I’ll post it to my network.” I was caught off guard, but instead of hesitating, I just went for it. Was I prepared? No. Did I have a pitch ready? No. Was I camera-ready? ABSOLUTELY NOT. But I knew Vikrim was busy, and I didn’t want to waste his time. Despite feeling completely unprepared, I took a deep breath and started sharing Fuzzy Sequence 🚀. That one impromptu video? It was picked up by TikTok x Meet the Drapers, launching me into a whirlwind competition. Suddenly, I found myself posting videos on TikTok and pitching against hundreds of startups at 11:30 PM across multiple nights. The stakes? A chance to pitch to THE Tim Draper for a $1M Investment. This was the visionary who backed Tesla, SpaceX, Coinbase and more. Then came the email: "You've made it to the finals" Next thing I knew, I was in San Francisco, making my TV debut with the opportunity of investment and meeting legendary figures in tech: ✨ Bill Draper - one of the pioneers in VC ✨ Tim Natividad - TikTok's Enterprise Sales leader ✨ Nikki Farb - founder-turned-investor But the real treasure? The incredible friends I made along the way - Aadil, Nicole, Aneirin, Daniyal, Daniel, Joshua, Sunwoo, Kürşat, Fulya. I really appreciated our late-night, vulnerable chats and ideas. If I had said “No” in that moment, I would have missed out on all of this. So, to anyone reading this—say YES to every opportunity that comes your way. The worst they can say is no. But the best? Well, you might just end up pitching to Silicon Valley legends. PS: A big thank you to the Meet the Drapers team: Henrique, Sujata, Sarika, Reisha, Michael, Spencer and Eric. [Stay tuned for the episode next year! 📺]

Some behind-the-scenes fun from Street Talk with TikTok x Meet the Drapers ✨ Still feels unreal that I’m here and we got chosen as the final AI Startups! The amazing crew whisked me off to explore the city, and I got to soak up the epic Golden Gate views from the Headlands! Soooo we were curious why Fuzzy Sequence 🚀 got selected as the TikTok x Meet the Drapers Top 4 AI Startups - pretty wild, right? 🤯 But here's the thing - we're not just pumped about being on this experience. We're stoked because we learned a ton about *why* we were chosen. And honestly? That knowledge is way more valuable than just getting a win. If you're curious about the behind-the-scenes, we did a video with Henrique G.Pereira :) We're hanging out at Hero City at Draper University the next few days. If you're in SF, hit me up!

What I've recently realised is that you can be left behind if you don't take the time to keep on top of the latest technology and tools in your industry. Learned so much about using AI as a way to help sales professionals last week at the most recent Tech Sales Singapore gathering. I haven't been to one of the events in awhile, and was really grateful to learn how these tools can make it easier. I had never heard of: Clay Fuzzy Sequence 🚀 Make Introdex Ok, I'd heard of Zapier. But, what I realised is that you can be left behind if you don't take the time to keep on top of the latest technology and tools in your industry. In this vase, B2B sales. Learned a lot from Jenny, Prashant, Aditya and Rizuan on how to use the tools, as well as their own ways of engaging and reaching out to prospects, both warm and cold (Rizuan will ping you soon on how to set up the leads list)! There is something to be said about how I do my sales, which is more geared towards building relationships to connect and sell that way. But, there is so much to to that. There is technology and there are tools that can make our lives that much easier. No matter what industry you are in, figuring out how you can use technology and other methods to make your life easier is so important. So humbled by everything that I learned last week! Anyone seen any other cool or useful SDR/sales tools? Grateful to 👋 Gael, Benjamin, Han Yun and Bryan for setting this community up. Much to learn from everyone! And, happy birthday Gael! For anyone in the B2B sales space, would highly encourage you to join Tech Sales Singapore at their next event! —— 👨🏻💻 Follow me, Ee Chien, for more writing and sharing on entrepreneurship, tech, finance, life and current events.
