    🆘 A team member just resigned, now what? 🆘Don't panic, this can be a pivotal moment for your team’s future performance, success, and culture. Don't rush. Here's a process to follow... 📌 Save this post, and come back to it when you need it! 🗺️ Here’s your roadmap from resignation to advertising... ➡️ Receive the Resignation Listen carefully to their reasons for leaving. Could this be an opportunity to retain them or learn from their departure? Take their feedback seriously; it’s key to avoiding similar resignations down the line. ➡️ Plan Your Communications  Map out when and how you’ll inform the team and any external stakeholders. Anticipate the impact on your team—will others feel unsettled? Ensure workload distribution is clear, and provide the right support. ➡️ Analyse Team Needs Review the team’s goals and strategy for the next 1-3 years.   Assess current team capacity: strengths, career goals, skills gaps, and what new cultural ‘adds’ would benefit the team. ➡️ Re-evaluate the Role   Does this role still fit your current and future needs? Check if the salary, hours, and expectations are aligned with today’s market. Identify where you could be flexible. ➡️ Prepare Your Process Establish who will lead the recruitment process and confirm that all key players are available. Does this role need budget re-approval? Ensure all internal steps are clear and ready. ➡️ Craft an Engaging Advert   Your ad should reflect your organisation’s values & mission, provide context around the team they are joining and the role’s core responsibilities & expectations. Be realistic, are you writing the advert knowing you are looking for a 🦄unicorn 🦄 *spoiler alert* unicorns are mythical creatures! Focus on what’s essential rather than the “nice-to-haves.” ➡️ Activate Your Network   Share the role widely across your network and your team's network. Make sure you are available to discuss the role with interested candidates, if people are really busy in their current role, taking the time to apply can be significant. Some people will only apply if they know it's 'perfect' for them. ___ There’s more to think about & plan beyond the advertising stage, but these are the first steps to set you up for a successful hire.   • 💫 A really simple tip for all Job seekers💫 is to track you applications properly, there's more to it than you might think...😱 You need to track when you applied, when the role closes, a date to follow up, if you've connected with the hiring manager, contacting any referrals you might for the person / organisation, the version of your resume & covering letter that you applied with + THE ADVERT! Once the ad closes and you are shortlisted, you need a copy of that advert to prepare to interview properly!!     I cannot say this loud enough. If you don't start to focus on value / cultural and purposeful alignment, you will continually find yourself stuck in roles that do not feel 'right' 🙄 Ask yourself... 🤷♀️ Are you aligning your skills and passions with organisations that truly share your values, or are you trying to fit into roles that don’t feel right? 🤷♀️ What if the disconnect isn’t in your abilities, but in the way you're telling your story? When applying for roles, you may secure roles with a good, clear resume but it's unlikely you'll secure your 'dream' job, if you aren't positioning yourself and the impact you want to make 🌏 💬 Share with me times you've got this right / wrong yourself? Or a time when shifting to a values / purpose led search you landed your own dream role. 💡 I hope this small tips helps you to rethink how you’re approaching your job search. if you are finding yourself repeatedly in the wrong roles.
