Female Leadership In Teaching #FLInT

After a rewarding chapter at Westbourne Grammar School, I am pleased to share that I will be joining the Senior Leadership Team at Hume Anglican Grammar as the Director of Student Wellbeing. A heartfelt thank you to the incredible community at Westbourne Grammar School, especially Dr Adrian Camm and Teagan Collins, for their unwavering support. Your mentorship and encouragement have been invaluable. I continue to be inspired by the important work that educators do in supporting the health and wellbeing of young people. When people feel connected and cared for, they learn more effectively and are able to grow to be their best selves. I'm looking forward to contributing to the vibrant community at Hume Anglican Grammar and working closely with staff, students and families to create a meaningful, lasting impact.

It is not often you get this level of high praise and I just had to share it! Thank you, Ann Hammond. Yesterday, I launched my new program, Leadership Blueprint, to a small group of educators. It's about leading with a clearer purpose, being more intentional and having a vision. It's about being strategic. Ann shared that it was one of the best professional developments sessions she has attended. What a great testimonial! I could not be more pleased with the new program and the book that I'm writing that sits behind it. We have a long way to go, but awareness of the problem is a start. Action towards changing this narrative is the next step! This is why groups like Female Leadership In Teaching #FLInT are so important. To reduce gender disparities in leadership, we can: 🤲 Network and Find Mentors - Build supportive networks ie #FLInT and seek mentors for guidance and opportunities ✔️ 🤲 Increase our Professional Development - Workshops and leadership training ✔️ 🤲 Support Other Women: Advocate for fair practices and shout out the achievements of female colleagues. Building strength and unity. ✔️

I'm currently researching the very pronounced 'gender wellbeing gap' that indicates that more women, than men, are experiencing stress, exhaustion and burnout. This is part of my research for my next book and for my 2025 International Women's Day keynote called 'Powered-Up Women: Unpacking the Neuroscience to Help Women Thrive in the Digital World'. My preliminary research suggests that there are a host of factors that are colliding to contribute to this wellbeing gap. I'd love to know what I've missed.
