Co-designed by and for people with lived experience of an eating disorder, PMP is described by one of our mentors as the “missing link in mental health support.” What is PMP? Our Peer Mentoring Program (PMP) is a FREE treatment option, providing one-on-one mentoring with an EDV Peer Mentor who has recovered from an eating disorder. 💚 There's huge demand for the Peer Mentoring Program. Available spots get filled faster than we can promote the program. This means that we’re not reaching everyone who would benefit from participating. 💜 Unfortunately, this isn’t surprising. Due to limited funding, we’re only reaching about 4% of those impacted by eating disorders in Victoria. We’re passionate about this treatment option because it works. ⭐️ Give for 2025 and help us help more people, more often. ➡️ Donate today: https://lnkd.in/gY_DfJka $75 pays for a Peer Mentoring activity, like a cooking session or art activity. Or consider a donation of your choice — every dollar counts!

Testimonials like this remind us that mental health care has the power to transform lives when support is accessible. When people connect with EDV, they often wish they’d found us sooner – and we feel the same! As we head into 2025, we’re inviting our community to join us in making a bigger impact. Your support can help us reach more people, more often. We’ve made it easy to contribute via our donation page, which you can find here: https://lnkd.in/gY_DfJka 💜 We know not everyone is in a position to donate this holiday season. If you would still like to contribute, sharing our campaign really helps.

Do you want to help people impacted by eating disorders with a rewarding volunteer opportunity in 2025? Join the EDV Hub! https://lnkd.in/g9RTD-hn The Hub is at the heart of EDV, and no two calls are the same. Calls can range from helping people book into an EDV service, directing someone to support in their area, sharing resources about eating disorders, or being a friendly ear for someone who is a bit worried about their food or exercise thoughts. 💜 WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR 💜 Our volunteers are adaptable and non-judgmental with our callers, and work together to help each other too. You should be able to commit to a 3.5 hour shift, once a week, for 12 months. 🧡 HOW WE SUPPORT YOU 🧡 Every volunteer receives thorough training followed by a period of being supervised as you take calls. Once you become an independent operator, you'll have continued access to our friendly Hub Manager and your fellow volunteers to help you give callers the best support and problem-solve as a team. #Volunteer #Volunteering #MentalHealth

Our ‘why’ is simple. At EDV we’re working towards a Victoria where everyone has a free relationship with body, food and movement. We’re thrilled to reveal our collab with local artist, Angharad Neal-Williams whose artwork represents our community and our vision. You’re part of this vision, too. Give for 2025 to help us help more people, more often—because everyone with an eating disorder deserves support. Thank you Angharad for this beautiful artwork. We can’t wait to rep it on our new stickers and tote bags. Get yours as a thank you gift from EDV to you when you donate: https://lnkd.in/gY_DfJka

Happy #InternationalVolunteerDay! Every year we help thousands of people impacted by eating disorders in their journey to recovery, starting with the Hub. As the entry point to all of EDV's services, no two calls are the same. Our volunteers are adaptable and non-judgmental with our callers, and work together to help each other too. From our Hub operators, to ambassadors, and Board members – we could not do this work without you. Read more about their fantastic work towards body, food and movement freedom for all in the article below. Today is #TransDayOfRemembrance, a day for us to both mourn and honour the lives of transgender people lost to discrimination and transphobia. 🕯💐 CW: discussion of deaths from eating disorders and transphobia. . . . . Eating disorders still have a cruelly preventable mortality rate. Trans people have an increased likelihood of experiencing an eating disorder, facing barriers to mental health care, and are often left out of the statistics. Today we remember all trans people who have lost their lives to transphobia - including medical discrimination - many of whose stories don't get told. And we remember that trans people are so much more than tragic deaths: they are kind, creative, funny, they love their community, they support and show up for each other. Trans Day of Remembrance reminds us to advocate and care for the living too. 💙💗🤍 If today or this information is distressing for you or someone you know, support is available: 📞 Rainbow Door (10am-5pm) - 1800 729 367 https://lnkd.in/gcsCamfp 📞 Qlife (3pm-midnight) - 1800 184 527 https://lnkd.in/ggijiZRC 📞 Lifeline (24/7) - 13 11 14 https://lnkd.in/gCC77b_f 📞 Suicide Callback Service (24/7) - 1300 659 467 https://lnkd.in/gqSJWXaH 📞 13 YARN (24/7) - 13 92 76 https://www.13yarn.org.au

Spotting the signs and symptoms of eating disorders early cannot be underestimated. Regular check-ups and appointments during the perinatal period offer a unique opportunity to do just that. 💜 Remember: as clinicians, your assessments don’t need to result in a diagnosis. You can focus instead on detecting the possibility of a current eating disorder.
