🎉 Congratulations to the Year 9 Career Taster Program for winning the silver Moore Australia (WA) Award for Best Practice in Collaboration Between Government and any other Organisation at the 2024 Institute of Public Administration Australia WA (IPAA WA) Achievement Awards.🥈👏 Since its launch in 2022, over 38,000 Year 9 students have participated in the program which creates meaningful ways for students to explore their career options during school. From cultural career camps on Country, podcasts with industry mentors to VR experiences, the program offers tailored and flexible opportunities to engage and inspire students all across WA.🎮🎤🚀 A heartfelt thank you to the WA TAFE colleges, the Department of Education, Western Australia, Catholic Education Western Australia, the AISWA - Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia, SALT – Supporting and Linking Tradeswomen Australia, and the School of Isolated and Distance Education for their collaboration on this initiative. The Delivering a Skilled Workforce for Western Australia's Defence Industry report released today, highlights the success of the State Government's $35 million investment in growing WA's defence industry and building a skilled workforce. More than 1,000 Western Australian's have so far benefitted from training opportunities and financial assistance to 'start something' and embark on a rewarding career in WA's defence industry. WA's defence industry is set to support 10,000 highly-skilled, well paid jobs over the next two decades. 🚧 The Construction Skills Innovation Hub at North Metropolitan TAFE's Balga campus is now open! 🚧 North Metropolitan TAFE's Balga campus has been transformed into a world-class training hub for the trades of the future. From Term 1, 2025, students will benefit from the state-of-the-art facilities, including the Future Trades Workshop, where apprentices will gain hands-on experience with emerging construction technologies like energy-saving smart homes and automation systems. Strengthening WA’s building and construction industry. 💪🧱 Construction industry employers and skilled migrants connected recently at the Construction Employment Connect 2024 event at North Metropolitan TAFE’s East Perth campus.
