Attention Australian Dental Practitioners! Are you a registered dental practitioner currently practicing in Australia? We are conducting a study to explore oral cancer-related knowledge and screening practices among Australian dental professionals, including dental hygienists, dental prosthetists, dental therapists, dentists (both general and specialist), and oral health therapists. We invite you to participate in our anonymous survey, which takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. 👉 Follow this link to learn more about the study and take the survey: https://lnkd.in/gNy285As. This study is being conducted by the Melbourne Dental School at the University of Melbourne. For any questions, please contact the responsible researcher, Dr. Roisin McGrath PhD at [email protected].

Oral Health Fun at Connected Libraries! 🦷 We visited the Endeavour Hills library to see a preschool story time with an oral health theme! Sunny led 23 excited kids and their caregivers through dental-themed stories, songs, and activities. Families also received dental packs with brushing charts and tools to help children develop healthy habits at home. The Population Health team supports library staff with training and resources to confidently run sessions like this, encouraging better oral health for young children and their families. Big thanks to the Endeavour Hills team for helping promote healthy habits and bright smiles! #HealthySmiles #OralHealth #CommunitySupport

💜 Standing Together Against Family Violence 🧡 Over the past two weeks, DHSV & RDHM staff have united in solidarity with those impacted by family violence, showing our commitment to this critical cause. We participated in a lunchtime walk to raise awareness and even took part in a special walk with the entire Parkville precinct, including staff from the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Women's Hospital, and The Royal Children's Hospital. It was an incredible show of collective support and strength! 🚶♀️🚶♂️💪 Additionally, we hosted a Lunch and Learn event featuring an inspiring panel of experts from Safe Steps, Orange Door, and the Victorian Police Family Violence Unit. These sessions provided invaluable insights into supporting victim-survivors and addressing family violence. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this important campaign. Together, we can make a difference! #16DaysOfActivism #EndFamilyViolence #SupportAndSolidarity

What an amazing day at Werribee Open Range Zoo! Nearly 50 kids received an oral health screening, and even more took home our free oral health packs! Our Population Health Team kept families engaged with fun activities like designing personalised water bottles, learning tooth brushing techniques, and sparking their imagination by crafting vibrant fruit and veggie rainbows! 🍎🌈🎨 The excitement didn’t stop there! 🦛The Zoo Hippo Talk reminded us all that, just like the amazing hippos, we need to eat well, drink well, and clean well for healthy smiles. A big shoutout to IPC Health for their incredible support and a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful partners at Zoos Victoria for helping us create such a fantastic day for families! We’d love to hear your favorite moments from the day in the comments below!
