  • Each year Crown surveys our team members right around Australia so we can continue to improve our workplace and culture.   This year, our Perth team members reached a participation milestone in our annual survey – which would ultimately see $10,000 donated to Zonta House Refuge Association in Western Australia, a critical service providing support for women and children fleeing domestic violence.   This week our Interim Perth CEO Brian Pereira and some of our People & Culture team met with Zonta House CEO Kelda Oppermann and Communications and Engagement Officer Ella Kent to hand over the donation.   Nothing compares to giving back to the community at Christmas, but knowing our team members personally contributed to and chose Zonta House for this donation makes it extra special.

  • Crown Melbourne has welcomed Kolkata Cricket Club, a new venue in partnership with award-winning Melbourne Chef, Mischa Tropp. Inspired by old school Bengali cricket clubs and members bars in India, Kolkata Cricket Club delivers a combination of nostalgic charm and modern hospitality, in a space designed by interior designer Min-Chun Tseng. At Crown, we love nothing more than creating joyful, elevated experiences for our guests and the community.   This weekend The Salvation Army Australia band and choir surprised and delighted some Crown Perth guests with Christmas carols, whilst raising funds to support Australians in need this Christmas.   We’re proud of our three-year national partnership and pledge to donate $1.6 million per year, along with nearly $4 million in additional in-kind support.

  • This weekend, we welcomed the team behind Sydney institution, Icebergs, to Crown Sydney for a summer residency. Icebergs Harbour Bar brings elevated classics, seaside drinking, and coastal energy to the heart of our Crown Towers lobby and harbourside terrace. The menu has been designed by celebrated Sydney-local Chef, Alex Prichard, and offers a selection of Euro-Aus-inspired snacks. A huge well done to the team behind this incredible new offering.

  • Crown’s community partnerships allow our team members and guests to make a real impact in our communities.   In Perth, our team has recently partnered with the Perth Wildcats for the Pink Game, raising money to support people living with breast cancer.   Between Crown donations and those of our generous guests, more than $20,000 was donated directly to Breast Cancer Care WA - vital funds that will now be spent on the evidence-based Living Well program, which offers a holistic, community-based approach for breast cancer survivors and metastatic clients.

At Crown, we are deeply committed to diversity and inclusion and creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. This International Day of People with Disability, we want to highlight the value of a diverse workforce to provide equal opportunities for our people.   Sandra Flannery is one of our valued team members and will soon celebrate her one-year anniversary at Crown. Taking immense pride in what she does, Sandra’s role is at our staff dining restaurant, which happens to be the one of largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Sandra brings a positive energy to the team and challenges the way others think about people with disabilities – everyday. She was supported into employment through our CROWNability program, which has now welcomed more than 970 team members since its inception. As a major operator and employer across the nation, we recognise our responsibility to play a role in increasing awareness and acceptance of people with disability in the workplace, and the importance of challenging perceptions to break down barriers.

Last Thursday, Crown Sydney kicked off summer with a ‘Summer Pool Party’ at our iconic infinity pool and Pearl Ballroom. At the event, we announced two of Sydney’s hospitality institutions, Golden Century and Icebergs Harbour Bar, will soon call Crown Sydney home. We also launched our summer offers, menus and Patrón pop-up experiences. As the sun set, acoustic sets were performed by global chart-topping sensation, Tones And I, with a spectacular drone show lighting up the night sky. Guests were some of the first to sample Patrón’s new prestige El Alto, and enjoyed bespoke menus created in collaboration with Patrón by our award-winning restaurants: Oncore by Clare Smyth, Nobu, a’Mare and Woodcut. We cannot wait to welcome guests to our resort this summer.

  • Today we launched Christmas across our three resorts and announced a significant three-year national partnership between the Crown Resorts Foundation and The Salvation Army Australia As part of this partnership, the Crown Resorts Foundation has pledged a $1.6 million donation and nearly $4 million in additional support such as food, provisions, warm clothes, events and volunteers.  This partnership will tackle three critical issues - homelessness, family and domestic violence, and substance abuse - directly helping thousands of Australians.   Our donation is equivalent to preventing 5,833 individuals from becoming homeless, providing 40,000 meals, assisting 2,333 mothers and children to flee from domestic violence, or supporting 2,917 individuals in their recovery from addiction.     Guests can also join in the giving spirit through donations from special Christmas dining experiences, gingerbread house sales, and tap-and-donate opportunities. Our team is excited to create incredible festive experiences for our guests, while supporting The Salvation Army and those in our communities who need it most.

  • We are excited to announce that Sydney hospitality institutions, Golden Century and Icebergs Harbour Bar, are coming to Crown Sydney. Icebergs Harbour Bar will open in December, welcoming guests from morning through to late night in our lobby bar and outdoor terrace. In early 2025, Golden Century will continue their 30-year legacy and reprise the original concept which has been unavailable to diners since their Sussex St location closed during Covid. These amazing new venues are well-timed with the opening of direct and fast metro services to our iconic harbour front location. Billy, Linda and Eric, co-owners of Golden Century, and Maurice Terzini, co-owner of Icebergs, came together this week to mark the occasion. It is going to be a very exciting summer ahead, and we cannot wait to welcome guests to our new venues.
