There was plenty to celebrate at the NQ Media Ball & Awards held last night at the Metropole Hotel: 🏆 I was announced as the Communications Professional of the Year. I was honestly just happy to have my name included in such a strong field of finalists, so I am so thrilled to receive this award. 🏆Creative Concepts PR won Best Campaign of the Year for the PBR Australia Grand Finals 2023. Georgie Desailly was instrumental in implementing this campaign, and we’re very grateful to the incredible PBR Australia team and media for helping make this campaign a success. 📖 Congratulations to Townsville Bulletin, in particular Cas Garvey, Chris Burns and Cameron Bates for winning Story of the Year for Mayor’s Army Service Record Revealed. Creative Concepts PR was the sponsor for this category so it was an honour to present this award. I’m very proud to work alongside so many talented media and comms professionals who are passionate about regional storytelling. Thank you to the judges and the committee for a fantastic event filled with laughter and connection. My dancing feet are sore but my heart is full.

  • Pitching to Podcasts 🎙️ Over the last couple of months, Julie has been facilitating season two of the What the Health podcast, alongside local Functional Medicine Practitioner and owner of Hello Health, James Jensen, and a variety of guests, as they delve into key health topics that are frequently overlooked. Julie and James have also appeared as guests on other podcasts, discussing their topics of interest within their fields of expertise. Guest podcasting is an excellent option for expanding your brand visibility and establishing yourself as an authority in your industry. It can also help you influence and make an impact on your target audience, reach new audiences and build relationships with the host and other key spokespeople in your industry. 🗣️ In 2023: 🎧 Australians maintained our position as the world's most avid podcast listeners 🎧 We downloaded 1.03 billion podcasts 🎧 Which we spent an average of 2.3 hours per week listening to So the next time you're planning a media campaign and are choosing your target media, consider relevant podcasts in your industry and/or region that you can send your pitch to. The first three episodes of What the Health season two are available now, wherever you get your podcasts. • Are you holding yourself back from getting media coverage? You see your competitors, your sporting rivals, the 'other' businesses, groups, or clubs being quoted in the media, time and time again. And you wish that it could be you. The reason it IS them and NOT you is usually simple. They've approached the media, put themselves out there, built those relationships and established themselves as someone who is knowledgeable, available and willing to discuss a particular topic. They put themselves in the race. Can it be scary? Yes. Do we guarantee media coverage? No. Will you get media coverage if you DON'T put yourself out there? Also no. If you, your business, or your community group have a newsworthy story that you think the media will be interested in, or if you have a local take on a national or industry-focused topic - don't stand on the sideline wishing. Contact the media, send in your media release and put yourself out there. It doesn't have to be about winning. Walk out onto the track and give it a go. Because if the media don't know about you, they can't talk about you. 📰📺📻🎧🎙️ For more tips like this, make sure you're signed up to our e-newsletter >> https://lnkd.in/gcEAsDBU And to read our blog post - Proof You Can Establish Yourself as the Media’s Go-To Expert >> https://lnkd.in/gpk5ifg4 #creativeconceptspr #PRtips #media #mediaexpert #publicrelations #publicity #mediacoverage #createyourownpr

  • Journos can't make your media op? Be prepared by creating your own content 📹📸🎙️ Journalists are always on the go and have limited resources - so they can't always make it to ever media call taking place in your area. Which means that every now and again, media outlets will rely on supplied content, such as overlay vision, photos, and even audio, in order to pull together the day's news coverage. Thinking ahead and being prepared with content can be the difference between receiving media coverage, or missing out on getting your story out to your community. 📺 Learn how to record overlay vision (aka b-roll) and interviews in the style of your target TV news channel. 📰 Have a bank of high quality photos that you can pull from for print media (but make sure they're relevant to your story!). 📻 Practice recording audio grabs so that your key messages are clear, concise and suitable to use by radio journos. In all cases - make sure you're taking note of the look, sound and style that your target media prefers so that you can make it easy for them to use your supplied content. • Is your media outreach falling flat? We know it can be frustrating, but don’t let it dishearten you! Here, we explore some of the most common pitching pitfalls that might be preventing your story from getting picked up by the media. ➡️ Is the pitch the right fit for the media outlet you're targeting? ➡️ Is your pitch too advertorial? ➡️ Have you considered the visual opportunities? ➡️ Did you follow up? ➡️ It's not you... If any of these sound familiar - persistence and adaptability are the key! Don’t let any initial setbacks hold you back; instead keep refining your pitch and approach and, as I always say, practice makes perfect! 👍 Read the full article on the Blog 💻 https://lnkd.in/gfV2RWnE #creativeconceptspr #prtips #pitchingtomedia #pitchingpitfalls #mediacoverage #publicrelations #PR #blog
