Thank You David After 8.5 years A/CEO David Cain will be leaving Communicare to take up a new role as Managing Director at Outcare. We would like to thank David for the immense impact he has had on our organisation over this time and thank him for his leadership and commitment. We would like to wish him every success for this next chapter.

Today is International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD)! Held on 3rd December, this United Nations (UN) initiative celebrates the achievements and contributions of people with disabilities while promoting awareness of inclusion and accessibility worldwide. Since 1996, the Australian Government has supported IDPwD, aligning with Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021–2031 and its vision of a truly inclusive society. At Communicare, we are proud to champion inclusivity, supporting people with disabilities to access programs, services, events, and employment opportunities. Together, we can break barriers and build a future where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive. Let’s celebrate the incredible diversity and strength in our community today and every day!

Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and launch of the #16daysofactivism campaign. Today and every day, we stand in solidarity with the elimination of violence against women #16daysofactivism #16daysinWA. Thanks to all who came to the @16daysinwa rally in Perth today, every voice counts. This year's theme is #NoExcuse. We urge you to heed the message and educate yourself on how you can play a role as an advocate and ally for women’s safety. We are delighted to announce that Merinda March will be joining Communicare as our Chief Executive Officer from 6 January 2025. Merinda is currently the CEO for Hope Community Services, and will bring a strong understanding of the community services sector to her new role. Merinda is committed to building on Communicare's 45+ year legacy of delivering innovative and empowering services that support people and communities to thrive. She is passionate about elevating the voices of First Nations people and ensuring culturally appropriate service delivery, supporting the growth and development of staff and identifying opportunities for new ways of working and delivering services. We look forward to welcoming Merinda in the new year as we embark on a new chapter in our journey.
