  • Recently, our people across PAE participated in the 15 Minute Challenge, a six-week online team competition encouraging us to find time to be active for at least 15 minutes a day for as many days as possible. Together, across the organisation, we achieved 2,083 number of exercise days, 94,205 minutes of exercise, an average of 23 hours of exercise per person and an average of 31 out of 42 days active. Congratulations to our winning team the Hotsteppers! (pictured) who clinched bragging rights and took out the Exercise Challenge Cup. The 15-minute Challenge helped us build small, healthy habits together, which we will take with us beyond the six-weeks. We are proud of our people for soaking up the team bonding and friendly competition and most importantly investing in their health. 📷Jing, Alesia, Craig and Ann representing the Hotsteppers who took out the Challenge Cup.

  • Today is International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) a UN day that aims to raise awareness and promote the rights and wellbeing of people with disability. In 2024, we continued work towards our Inclusive Communities Plan which included: • a new Changing Places facility opened at Largs Bay, providing a fully accessible public toilet with change table and hoist for people with severe or profound disability. • continued support for a range of inclusive sports and activities at The Lights, Lefevre Stadium and our Libraries, creating opportunity for learning and connection.  • Delivery of Disability Awareness Training and Accessible Events training for staff, including the development of Event Access guides for major events. • In February 2025, we are supporting the Amplifii Music Festival in PAE, an inclusive and accessible music festival where people of all abilities are welcomed to share their love of music and dance. In 2025 we will begin developing a new Inclusive Communities Plan and will ask the community what they would like to see included. We will continue to cultivate and maintain a diverse workforce that mirrors the rich diversity of the community we serve and foster a workplace culture that is fair, equitable, discrimination-free, and safe for everyone.  For more information about our commitment to access and inclusion in the City of PAE visit: https://lnkd.in/gW9tJnZi Or sign up to Participate PAE to be notified about when and how you can provide input into our new Inclusive Communities Plan: https://lnkd.in/gPcGnkRt 📷 (L to R) Kristin, Tara, Leanne and Rob are some of the members from PAE's Inclusive Communities Working Group - a group of employees with lived experiences and specialist knowledge working to improve access and inclusion outcomes in our City.

  • Today is International Men’s Day, a global initiative reminding us of the importance of promoting and encouraging men’s health and wellbeing. We spoke to some of our people in the PAE office to find out how they champion men’s health and prioritise their own physical and mental wellbeing. MEET STEPHEN (left) AND CRAIG (right) This year Craig started cycling to work to boost his physical activity and help the environment. Craig prioritises his mental health at work by taking "time out to share your stories and have a laugh” with colleagues at work. Stephen has been fundraising for men’s health charities this November, culminating in a 50km run this weekend with his colleague Joel, the pair are on track to meet their target of raising $2,000. Stephen was motivated to get involved in fundraising to “encourage men to talk about health issues” and said his preparation for the run started slow. "I could not run at first. I started with a slow jog, slowly built, celebrated the small wins, and set goals. I kept it regular and disciplined, and it doesn’t feel good when I don’t run," "Running takes you to some beautiful places, we are so lucky to live in SA.” These are just two examples of how the many men of PAE are helping achieve the International Men’s Day vision of positive male role models, building healthier communities and creating a healthier future.
