We’re enhancing community with the addition of three new vehicles to our Safer Patrol fleet. Thanks to a $150,000 investment from the State Government, these new vehicles will be equipped with advanced features, including: ▪️360-degree camera surveillance ▪️GPS location tracking ▪️Specialised lighting systems This initiative is part of the City’s broader $2 million commitment to community safety in this year’s budget. As part of this investment, we are expanding Safer Streets Patrol services to operate seven days a week. Additionally, we’re exploring the possibility of permanently stationing the team in the Kalgoorlie CBD. We’ve also enhanced the City’s CCTV network and introduced a portable CCTV trailer, allowing us to focus surveillance where it’s needed most. With these new vehicles and initiatives, our patrol team will be better equipped to detect, respond to, and report incidents, particularly in the CBD and surrounding main streets. 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗻 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱: “Our residents have raised concerns about community safety, and these new vehicles and expanded patrol services are a direct response to those concerns. These initiatives are key actions from our Community and Crime Prevention Plan, reflecting our commitment to a comprehensive, coordinated approach to delivering safer solutions for our city.” “A lot has been achieved, and we will continue to work closely with the State Government and other stakeholders to ensure the well-being of our residents, businesses, and visitors.” 📸 Featuring Hon. Paul Papalia CSC MLA (Minister for Police), Ali Kent MLA (Member for Kalgoorlie), Darryl Gaunt (WA Police Assistant Commissioner Regional WA), and members of the City’s Safer Streets Patrol Team #communitysafety #kalgoorlieboulder #localgovernment #ourcommunity

The Summer Operational Stakeholder Group is an important collaboration between government agencies and social service stakeholders to ensure a reduction in anti-social behaviour, homelessness, littering, and crime in our city. Progress so far includes the addition of four new officers for enhanced policing as part of Operational Regional Shield, the reactivation of the Local Liquor Accord which has resulted in the expansion of the Banned Drinkers Register, and increased funding for homelessness support services. The State Government is also investing $150,000 in new, tech-equipped Safer Streets Patrol vehicles which will be on the road soon. The group met recently to build on September’s strategic discussions, which focused on bolstering essential services for the upcoming summer period.
