🏡 Celebrating Success: Southern House Handover 🏡 Last month, we proudly celebrated the completion of the Southern House Renovation Program, a partnership between CITB, the SA Housing Trust, Reynella East College, and ATEC RTO 0022- Adelaide Training and Employment Centre RTO 0022. This program is an example of collaboration, providing D2C students with hands-on experience in renovating a house supplied by SAHT. Through their hard work, these students have gained invaluable skills and made a meaningful contribution to their community. 📣 Important Update from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) 📣 On 31 October 2024, the Governor of South Australia proclaimed the Construction Industry Training Fund (Miscellaneous) Amendment Act 2024, which is now in operation. This amendment represents a significant advancement for our industry, reinforcing CITB’s commitment to supporting construction skills and training for the future. As part of the Act’s commencement, certain provisions will come into effect on 1 January 2025. During this period, transitional arrangements will apply to the levy calculation under the Act. In line with this legislative change, the South Australian Government is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from experienced professionals for board member positions on the CITB. On Thursday 26th September, the CITB held its Board meeting at the newly built Findon Technical College. Board members were treated to a tour of the facility, hosted by Principal Ms Kathleen Hoare where they were able to see students in years 10 and 11 participating in industry training programs.
