CheckUP are excited to share our new video campaign Healthcare closer to home. Health services are all too often out of reach for Queenslanders living in rural and remote communities. We’re committed to creating healthier communities and reducing health inequities. With the support of approximately 150 contracted health providers, CheckUP’s Outreach Health Services program delivers a wide range of health services throughout rural and remote Queensland, bringing Healthcare closer to home. Hear from local community members, dedicated Outreach providers and local health facility staff as we collaborate to bring Healthcare closer to home. About us
CheckUP is an independent not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating healthier communities and reducing health inequities. We pursue this by working collaboratively at the strategic, regional, and local level to lead improvements in health. We design and facilitate the delivery of efficient and effective healthcare solutions. As experts in made-to-order health programs, we connect the right people and organisations to deliver a range of innovative healthcare services for hard-to-reach individuals and communities. We have an established footprint in almost 200 communities across Queensland and the Northern Territory, and our initiatives support people living in rural and remote geographical areas, as well as those with poor access due to social or economic barriers. With the support of up to 150 providers, we aim to increase primary healthcare services in urban, regional, rural, and remote locations throughout Queensland, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We also engage over 30 schools in health-related programs, share innovative ideas through our events, and connect people through networks, including our membership base. Utlising data to understand and advocate for community needs, we are focused on ensuring that everyone has the right to equitable access to health services, regardless of their economic, social, cultural, or geographical circumstances. We know that for this to occur, a capable and sustainable local health workforce must be developed. To support the delivery of our programs and initiatives we have offices in Brisbane, Cairns, and Townsville. OUR VALUES CheckUP has a set of core organisational values which are modelled in all our interactions. Excellence | Collaboration | Innovation | Integrity | Compassion

Doctor with disability advocates for Access for All 🙌 Meet Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM, a doctor and lawyer with a spinal cord injury and quadriplegia. Dinesh has witnessed first-hand how limited healthcare access, and a lack of disability awareness can create negative health outcomes for people with disability. Dinesh chaired the Access for All advisory group, using his life experience and wisdom to guide the course: “As healthcare professionals, this is our time to remember why we are here and use our purpose to contribute to a better future for those with disability.” 📖 Read Dinesh’s story along with other personal stories and case studies in our new Cases for Inclusion digital case study booklet ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gHCy8vKu 🖥️ Learn more about our Access for All: Disability Awareness for Health Providers online course ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/g3PtSXp9 #InclusionMatters #DisabilityAwareness #CasesForInclusion #AccessForAll
