Last weekend, we proudly sponsored Picture Me, a community Pride event in the regional town of Warragul, Gippsland. Meet Janette 👋🏼 Janette worked as a Senior Customer Service Officer at the Gisborne branch for 10 years (and prior to that 7 years at the Gisborne agency) before retiring and moving to Inglewood during Covid. Missing the interaction with customers and being involved in the community, Janette saw a vacancy advertised for a Customer Service Officer at her local branch in Inglewood and didn’t hesitate to come out of retirement. That was two years ago and she hasn’t looked back, thoroughly enjoying her two days in the branch each week. 🙌🏼 “Inglewood is a small town. My work provides me with opportunities to mix with new people and get involved in the local community. Our branch is very active in supporting community groups, and we love any opportunity to fly the community bank flag,” says Janette. Meet Max.👋🏼 Since beginning his career at Bendigo Bank as a Trainee Customer Advisor 4 years ago Max has enjoyed coaching and supporting our customers in their e-banking experience. Max’s role now has a digital focus and says he loves seeing the positive impact our branch teams can have to enable more of our customers to bank safely online. 💻 “I try to bridge the gap between retail and digital - helping to communicate the release of new features to e-banking, share the reason behind the change, answer any questions and importantly take learnings from both teams to improve our digital experience for customers.” Max also works with our partners so we can reach more customers and equip them to navigate digital banking and better protect themselves online.🛡️ “So far, we have run over 200 face-to-face Banking Safely Online education sessions to different community groups. We've also contributed $250,000 over the past three years to Good Things Foundation which has seen 58 of our branches jump on board to support hundreds of customers to learn a new digital skill and gain greater confidence online” adds Max.
