This talk is incredibly important as it provides the chance to hear firsthand about the impact of environmental injustices and the critical steps needed going forward. 🌟Reconciliation Week🌟 Today, we’d like to acknowledge reconciliation week and commemorate the two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey— the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively. Despite the many challenging moments in Australia’s reconciliation journey that make us want to turn away, now more than ever, we need to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation, strengthen our relationships and actively listen to the voices of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, acknowledging their wisdom and guidance as we strive for genuine reconciliation. Every day, BNTAC remains dedicated to empowering our members and placing the protection of heritage and country at the forefront of all our discussions. Our aim is to ensure that Banjima people are both respected and given a platform to voice their views on the activities occurring on Country. While there is still much work ahead, our efforts, coupled with collaboration with the wider community, are aimed at fostering greater reconciliation across Australia.

The Karijini Experience | 4-7 April 2024 We're thrilled to announce the return of the Karijini Experience this year! This event holds a special place in our hearts as it offers a unique opportunity to come together, share stories, and celebrate the richness of Banjima culture. Our program this year includes a diverse range of events, including fashion shows, bush medicine workshops, weaving sessions, art and language workshops, and musical performances by Aboriginal artists from all corners of Australia. Mr M. Parker Funeral Update 🖤 We would like to bring to your attention a small change in the funeral arrangements for Mr M. Parker.

Today marks the 10th anniversary since the Banjima People's Native Title rights were recognised in the Federal Court of Australia. 🖤 From 1998, when the first native title claim was lodged, through to 2014, Banjima People fought long and hard to be recognised as Traditional Owners and custodians of their country. Since the determination there has been significant milestones that include the signing of agreements with Rio Tinto and BHP, the establishment of heritage reference groups to ensure protection and promotion of heritage and culture, engagement in the Juukan Gorge parliamentary inquiry, hosting of the Karijini Experience and advocating for the cleanup of Wittenoom and closing the gap for Banjima People. We also take this opportunity to reflect, thank and pay our respect to those that are no longer with us.

Congratulations Banjima Trainees 😍 On Monday, we had the privilege of attending the BHP Healing Country traineeship graduation ceremony held on Country. We want to extend a huge congratulations to all the trainees. The collaboration between BHP and BNTAC marks a significant step forward in progressing land conservation, revegetation, and caring for Country.

Huge shoutout to the Banjima trainees and the BHP Land Rehabilitation Crew for the amazing work they are doing! 👏❤️Every year this traineeship just gets better and better.
