  • Last Friday our director of Sector Education and Engagement, Kai Rottmann, presented at the Northern Territory (NT) VET Community of Practice in Darwin. It was a great opportunity to speak to the VET community and learn about the unique nature of delivering VET in the NT. Kai began his presentation with an overview of the revised Standards, where he took a deep dive into how providers can prepare for their implementation, and our future education and engagement plan. He then discussed our risk-based regulatory approach, providing updates on the work underway in our Integrity Unit and elaborating on our 2024-25 Regulatory Risk Priorities. Kai also reiterated our commitment to being a modern regulator, detailing our investment in digital capability and adoption of behavioural and data insights to support provider compliance. Kai learned about the challenges attendees face in delivering training in the NT and how managing our risk priorities can generate innovation in their training delivery. It was a wonderful day and a fantastic opportunity to speak to valued and passionate VET practitioners in the NT. #ASQA #VETsector #NTVETCommunityofpractice

  • The Annual Declaration on Compliance (ADC) will open on 3 March 2025 and close on 31 March 2025. The ADC is a statement which confirms that your organisation complied with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) across all your scope of registration and for all certifications issued in the last 12 months. The declaration is a regulatory requirement and can only be completed by the person who is legally responsible for the registration of the RTO (the Chief Executive Officer). How can providers prepare? 🔹Check your records are current and accurate on asqanet 🔹If you identify incorrect information about your RTO, update it via asqanet 🔹Conduct an assessment of your RTO’s compliance with the Standards and conditions of registration using our self-assessment tool: https://ow.ly/EfOv50UgnaS For assistance viewing and maintaining your records, see our asqanet user guide for providers: https://ow.ly/M9H850UgpIW Read more about the ADC here: https://ow.ly/tkla50UgpIX #ASQA #VETsector

  • Yesterday, we held our annual face to face meeting with our Stakeholder Liaison Group (SLG). It was amazing to be able to collaborate with our members in person after multiple online meetings this year on topics such as work placement, governance through change, international delivery and the revised Standards. The day began with opening statements from our CEO Saxon Rice and Director of Sector Education and Engagement, Kai Rottmann, who is the chair of SLG. Our Director of Intelligence, Greg Simmons gave an overview of our Integrity Unit and facilitated some great conversation. SLG members then participated in several workshops with our DCEO Christina Bolger and staff from our Policy and Engagement group. In these sessions, members reviewed our draft educational content for the revised Standards, provided welcome feedback and highlighted key considerations to include to ensure our guidance materials support provider capability. The day ended with a discussion on future SLG commitments and potential opportunities for us to engage with SLG to uplift the sector. Our SLG members play a critical role in shaping our regulatory, education and communications approach. We truly value their efforts and dedication to co-create effective and practical educational content to address sector needs. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all our SLG members for the continued support, expertise and knowledge that you bring to our agency. Thank you to all members and attendees for your shared passion for improving the VET sector, and your continued enthusiasm and commitment to ensuring quality training outcomes for students. #ASQA #VETsector
