  • Jasmine has launched into a new career. Workforce Australia client, Jasmine came to atWork Australia in a vulnerable position. She was homeless, living in a tent and desperately trying to return to work to support her family. This had not always been the case for Jasmine. Previously, she had been working overseas and developing a very successful career. Jasmine’s life had completely flipped upside down. She was now experiencing extreme hardship, which began impacting her confidence, she had self-doubt, and her mental health deteriorated. With tailored support and a plan from atWork Australia and her Job Coach Mika, Jasmine is thrilled to be back at work. “When I first started with atWork Australia, Mika said to me that he could help me and I thought to myself, how? I need to do this myself. But I was wrong.” said Jasmine. Read more about Jasmine’s journey to employment here: https://ow.ly/4YFN50Uskej

It has been a very busy time of late. Throughout the year I’ve been visiting our atWork Australia teams across the country and witnessing firsthand the dedication and hard work of our teams. From Western Australia to Queensland, South Australia to regional areas of Victoria and NSW. I’ve seen the compassion of our people and their determination to drive better outcomes for clients, and support employers at this very busy time of year. So incredibly proud to be part of this ❤️

  • Connecting people and business, so both can thrive. One way we do this is through our First Steps to Success events, hosted at local sites around the country. These community events allow our clients to connect with local employer partners and training providers, in a more relaxed and comfortable setting. It is also a great opportunity for our employer partners to highlight employment opportunities to a crowd of eager job ready candidates. Pictured are the Lakemba, Punchbowl, Albany and Adelaide North events that were held around the country in October and November. We connect people and business so both can thrive. I am proud to share this video showcasing the wonderful collaboration we have with one of our national employer partners, Amazon. Since our collaboration together, we have supported over 200 clients into employment in varying roles across the country. This has been life changing for so many, including Andrew and Isikeli who are featured in this video. Isikeli shares “Learning these things at Amazon has changed my life. Having a job is an honour and a privilege for me.” Watching our clients and Amazon leaders speak reminds us all why we dedicate our careers to the Employment Service Industry and our clients 💖 Amazon is just one of the almost 3,500 employer partners that we work with to support our clients into meaningful and sustainable employment. To date this year alone we are proud to say we have connected close to 20,000 individuals with employment and we are not stopping there. atWork Australia Amazon

  • Pivoting, learning and shooting for the stars. atWork Australia is proud to partner with Melbourne United to offer our clients with valuable work experience across a range of home games throughout the season. The program allows atWork Australia clients, like Disability Employment Services client, Phillip (pictured), to participate in the home game activities, such as handing our merchandise in a capacity that works best for them. Phillip enjoys activities that are repetitive. Kylie had the perfect opportunity for Phillip to build his confidence but also feels comfortable in doing an activity suited to him. “We were able to set him up to hand out the clappers in the same spot all the time. This means he feels comfortable to keep coming back and has built confidence and resilience while participating,” said Kylie. The program helped to build Philips confidence to take on paid employment doing data entry for a real estate agency. You can read more about Phillips journey to employment here: https://ow.ly/Xb8J50UoL3o

  • Amazon’s intentional recruitment strategy of ‘leaning into curiosity’ when hiring inclusively pays dividends for the business, and its culture. Since the start of their collaboration with atWork Australia, Amazon has placed over 200 atWork Australia clients into employment. Two of these clients include Isikeli and Andrew who are featured in the below video. Michelle, Amazon’s Head of HR for Australian Operations, said that the collaboration between atWork Australia and Amazon is something they are deeply appreciative of. “We found that partnering with atWork Australia is critical to our success. atWork Australia took the time to come in and understand our business and our roles, and then match the candidate suitability to the roles that we have.” Our clients enjoy working with Amazon, and the opportunities and skills they have provided. Disability Employment Services client, Isikeli said “Learning these things at Amazon has changed my life. Having a job is an honour and a privilege for me.” atWork Australia looks forward to continuing to build on the collaboration with Amazon, connecting them with dedicated, passionate and job ready staff.
