  • Give the gift of hope these holidays by donating to the Anglicare WA Christmas appeal ⭐ 🎄 Your donation will go directly towards Young Hearts, a completely philanthropically funded service that can only continue through the generosity of our community. Young Hearts is dedicated to breaking the cycle of family and domestic violence, helping to build healthy relationships and explore emotions. Young Hearts currently has a waitlist of 57 children and young people waiting for counselling and support. Can you help us continue our work and reduce that number?  🔗 Donate by visiting https://buff.ly/41buSBI or call us on (08) 9263 2091. #Christmas #ChristmasAppeal

  • Santa swapped the frosty North Pole for a sizzling 🔥 40-degree day🔥 at Hyde Park last week to celebrate Christmas with young parents from YES Housing and Foyer Oxford! 🎅✨ Despite the heat, Santa donned his big red suit to share the Christmas cheer and presents with children and parents - even posing for family portraits with excited kids (and a few who were a bit sceptical of the man in red!). Thank you to Santa for taking time out of his busy schedule to spread some Christmas magic! 🧡

  • Have you seen the Moodjar (West Australian Christmas Tree)? 👀 🎄 Country is telling us the Noongar season of #Birak is here! Rising temperatures and a decrease in rainfall will see growing wildlife venturing out into the world. Baby frogs will complete their transformation to adulthood and reptiles will look to shed their skin. 🐸 Traditionally Birak to Bunuru is the burning time of the year, helping to decrease undergrowth and fuel. This heat and fire can assist in seed germination and encourages the lush growth of grasses and plants. Fires also force Yonga (kangaroo), Karda (goanna) and small marsupials into the open where they can be hunted. 🔥

  • 💥 TWO WINS 💥 The WA Rent Relief Program and Financial Wellbeing Collective were recognised at the 2024 IPAA WA Achievement Awards today. ⭐ 🏆 WA Rent Relief took home the win for 'Best Practice in Collaboration Between Government and any other Organisation (NFPs, Private, Corporate etc.)'. The program is a response to WA's intensifying housing crisis. Offering a single payment of up to $5,000 per household, supporting private tenants to continue their tenancy through a range of different avenues. These include: clearing rental arrears, paying rent relief directly to the landlord or property manager and facilitating access to financial, social and advocacy supports. Anglicare WA is proud to be co-leading this Program with Vinnies WA, in partnership with the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, Ruah and Centrecare, and with support from WACOSS and Shelter WA. 🏆 Financial Wellbeing Collective (FWC) also snagged a win in the category  'Excellence in the Not-for-Profit Sector'. The FWC offers a broad range of services for clients who are seeking to improve their financial wellbeing. From crisis services to workshops and financial coaching, the FWC adopts a strength based approach to help the community better prepare for financial shock of unexpected life events.  Our organisation is proud to also be one of the partners in this collaboration amongst other not-for-profit community services organisations and local government.  Institute of Public Administration Australia WA (IPAA WA)
