You are invited to take part in a research study being conducted by Monash University. We are looking for participants for our study. This project will try to understand how we can identify and flag harmful social media content related to body image and eating disorders, and the challenges associated with it. To build an evidence-based understanding of harmful content patterns, we first conducted a workshop with Butterfly Foundation, interviews with body image and eating disorders researchers and professionals, and a focus group with lived experiences of eating disorders. From this study, we derived rules that contained the pattern understanding of harmful social media content. To further strengthen this evidence-based understanding, we are conducting a Delphi study—a consensus-driven method for gathering insights from subject matter experts and individuals with lived experience. These findings will also inform technology development to automate harmful content detection fostering safer online environments. We invite you to participate in our Delphi study as a Delphi panel of experts by profession. If you are over the age of 18, are based in Australia and have experience working in body image or eating disorders within the context of social media as a researcher, clinical or professional, then please help us to validate these rules. These rules will eventually help us in intervention design and policy and platform recommendations. You will need to take part in at least two rounds of online survey. The surveys will be released in February and March, and it will take 45 minutes - 1 hour to complete each survey. LazyCow: A Lightweight Crowdsourced Testing Tool for Taming Android Fragmentation. Android fragmentation, with its endless variety of device models and OS versions, makes it nearly impossible for developers to test their apps on every device. This often leads to compatibility issues, crashes, and frustrated users. Existing tools primarily focus on API-based compatibility, but they overlook the broader scope, such as OS customisations by manufacturers, which can create unseen issues. LazyCow is a testing solution that helps developers detect a wider range of compatibility issues across real Android devices. Unlike traditional methods, LazyCow dynamically executes test cases directly on devices, reducing bandwidth, enhancing flexibility, and detecting both API and vendor-specific issues that static analysis can't catch. Our experiments, run on thousands of devices, showed impressive results - LazyCow identified hundreds of compatibility issues with a 100% true positive rate. Of the awards announced at our recent annual meeting, a particularly poignant one for our members was the inaugural Ariel Liebman Impact Award.   This was awarded to: Matthias Klapperstueck (Monash University) Frits de Nijs (Monash University, OPTIMA) Senthooran Ilankaikone (Monash University, OPTIMA) Jack Lee-Kopij, (Woodside Energy Ltd) Maria Garcia de la Banda (Monash University, OPTIMA); and Michael Wybrow (Monash University). Recognising their outstanding contributions in academic publications or software tools in the field of optimisation that demonstrate real-world impact, innovation and alignment with the mission of OPTIMA, the award was created to honour the legacy and contributions of the late Professor Ariel Liebman (Monash University), Chief Investigator in OPTIMA. In his memory, this award seeks to celebrate publications or software tools that have made significant contributions to optimisation technologies and embody the principles that Ariel held dear: innovation, excellence, collaboration, and real-world impact. The team authoured a paper on “Exploring Hydrogen Supply/Demand Networks: Modeller and Domain Expert Views” Congratulations on a well-deserved win!

Thanks to the extraordinary team at the Monash Incubator and the preeminent interdisciplinary panel for awarding us Bolster funding to co-design a global living evidence architecture with our region. As many people working in health settings know, clinical practice guidelines quickly become outdated, leaving health decision-makers without reliable, up-to-date evidence. We are bringing together expertise in Living Evidence, Public health, Data Science, Socio-technical software development, digital health, healthcare AI and health systems co-design alongside multilateral partners, and public health experts from across our region. Our work will leverage AI to improve global health outcomes by ensuring decisions are informed by the latest research.
