🔸 🔶 🔸 AI is going vertical 🔸 🔶 🔸 In a new guest article for Gründerszene / Business Insider I talk about how vertical AI is revolutionizing the work environment: After genAI took the world by storm it has rapidly commoditized. To train an advanced LLM costs hundreds of millions of $$$. But the usage of LLMs has become commonplace. Now the AI world is turning vertical: How can genAI solutions successfully be deployed within industry verticals? Not on the surface but solving some of the tough industrial challenges in a substantially new way, driving an increase in productivity by a factor of 2-5? prooph board and Cody Play received a major update and it's just amazing I talked about it before and now it is reality. After the Event Modeling Open Space in Berlin and especially after the workshop with Adam Dymitruk I went home with a ton of impressions, learnings, and todos for prooph board. A great Event Modeling tool must get out of the way in modeling sessions. Technical aspects should never influence the Event Model, because this will scare non-technical people. Keep it simple, let them be creative, and express system behavior in a purely business-focused way. Now prooph board is not only an online whiteboard where you can just move stickies and other shapes around. No, it ships with Cody Play to turn Event Models into prototypes and more. The first (beta) version of Cody had a few limitations in terms of how the Event Model needs to be structured so that Cody can understand it. The most difficult part here was the requirement that Cody needs to know which aggregate is responsible for command handling and event recording. I'm not going into the details of aggregate design here, because it is a thing of the past. You only need to know that Cody no longer requires aggregates. You can still instruct it to work with aggregates, but you don't have to and the new default is without them. This is a significant change for the entire Cody Play runtime. And it is a good one. You can freely design the entire information flow and plug it together with Cody Play configuration done in the Cody sidebar, so hidden from the Event Model itself. This update marks the end of the Cody beta phase. Cody becomes stable and with it the documentation. The wiki will be updated with a Cody Play tutorial in the next few days, followed by detailed documentation of the different configurations and design options. I've also planned to post a little snippet every day here on LinkedIn to keep interested people in the loop. Check the comments for a link to the wiki with an updated version of the Open Space Planning app that demonstrates the new power of Cody Play. By now enough people are already tired of all the GenAI buzz. A Women's Bundesliga match reaches as many ad impressions as a 2nd Bundesliga men's game. Wait, what? 🎯 Season Finale On Monday, the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga will conclude its season with Matchday 22. Two games will be broadcast not only live on Magenta Sport and Dazn but also on free TV: TSG Hoffenheim vs. FC Bayern München (ARD) VfL Wolfsburg vs. SGS Essen (Sport 1) 📺 Reach I took a look at the projected reach of both games in our GIPEDO Campaign Manager. For ad impressions, these numbers are in the upper 7-digit range. A look back: In recent months, various brands have booked perimeter advertising through GIPEDO in the Women's Bundesliga. Here are the reach numbers for selected brand campaigns of the top 3 matches on our platform that were broadcast live on Sport1 (free) and Magenta Sport/Dazn (paid): SV Werder Bremen vs. Eintracht Frankfurt: 7.86 million ad impressions SGS Essen vs. VfL Wolfsburg: 7.74 million ad impressions FC Nürnberg vs. Bayer 04 Leverkusen: 7.19 million ad impressions ➡ In all three games, the CPM was under 1 EUR! 💡 Perimeter advertising in Women's Bundesliga free TV matches achieves similar performance KPI’s as men's Bundesliga games at lower investments. In addition to the reach in live TV, exciting game scenes also increase the chance of appearing in highlight clips. This creates additional reach on TV as well as on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. The clubs themselves significantly increase reach through their social channels. For the free TV games on the upcoming Pentecost Monday, this means an advertising potential of millions of ad impressions. I'm particularly curious to see what reach the top game Hoffenheim vs. Bayern on ARD will generate. 💰 Undervalued Advertising Platform Women's football is not only attractive in terms of gameplay. Advertisers can build high reach cost-effectively in a short amount of time. Philipp Westermeyer and Roland Eisenbrand, isn’t this exactly the type of left-field advertising platform in sports you mentioned in your State of the German Internet keynote at #OMR24? Here is a good story about Facebook, showing the GOOD and BAD of the Platform: 8 years ago I decided to distribute my content to Facebook. I became the first Youtuber to succesfully branch out to FB - getting Billions of views in the years to follow. Using my own sucess as a case study, I then created a company to onboarded dozens of the BIGGEST youtubers to Facebook. Unfortunately I didnt have resources and connections on the inside like the BIG companies (Jellysmack), so I was never able to turn it into a $100m+ venture. I will never forget the moment I was at a FB event at Vidcon and the FB staff was all excited about this MASSIVE Youtuber who started posting on Facebook - I then said “yah that was me”, I watched as their faces dropped and the excitement was wiped away. Maybe they thought they were the ones to achieve that milestone, but it was me and yet I got no respect from the company. This was then followed up with me taking 100s of hours of calls to help advise them on how to make Facebook’s monetization and algorithm better for these creators. Yet, after all of this - I was never able to get any level of support. I would ask for basic things after these calls and they would do nothing. I now have clients dealing with actually bugs in their creator studio preventing them from being monetized. I am left to deal with the $15 dollars a month Meta Verified support (that is borderline useless). Maybe I am too controversial as an influencer to work with them, or maybe they are mad I exposed a Scammer (Ben Phillips) for getting access to monetize FB pages back in the Beta program days and stealing Millions of dollars from the creators he signed up. I am honestly barely scratching the surface here, but things have never been pleasant dealing with Facebook but the platform has so much to offer so I am still grateful for that. If anyone from Meta wants to talk, just reach out. (To be fair, there was a couple of people who did help me when I asked for it. And I appreciate them more than anything) I know more about Facebook, and been doing it longer than 99% of the people working there.

I've just returned our first (small) payment to the Bavarian funding! 💸 We received €130k in funding from the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern to produce Can't Drive This a while back. The funding for the production phase in Bavaria is a conditionally repayable loan. The condition is that the project has to be profitable, which means the project was profitable! 😍 Of course, there's a long way to go until we can pay back the whole 130k, but we have to start somewhere 🤷‍♂️ The deal is that you have to pay 50% from every cash coming in from the project after you have deducted your costs for the project, and until the whole loan is paid back plus (fair) interest. 5 years after you release your game, the remaining loan does not have to be paid back. 👨‍🏫 Attention new startups: In that case, you might have to pay some taxes "on this amount"; I am not a tax advisor. A tax advisor would choose a different wording for explaining this as this way of describing the effect is not accurate 😅 Also, some challenges: Costs that were not in your initial calculation do not "count" as costs in the above calculation. This means that your project might be profitable in funding terms but not as an actual project. Keep this in mind when extending the budget of your project with other financial sources.

I want to help Sebastian Siemiatkowski to spread the word and encourage the conversation about GenAI by adding the IP laws into the mix. Yep GenAI is awesome and it's really opens the doors for anyone (me included) who was not able to make images to finally be able, and for those who did it professionally to 10x the output. However in the light of IP protection it seems like GenAI images are not protected and to actually be protected there should be documented flow of how human was involved into the "output". Curious to hear some point of view from lawyers and IP/Tech/SaaS law practices. question number 2 is: how many examples we do have when politicians handle smth very well or moderately ok at least?
