This is a video of my WIP workflow using game logic to model full buildings starting from some cubes. What tools do I use you don't mind asking? 👉 Blender - perfect for modeling; 👉 BlenderBIM Add-on - magic place where the IFCs live in Blender; 👉 IFCOpenshell - writes IFC projects with Python words (crazy, right? 🙃); 👉 Topologic Sverchok - the cool Jedi Vodoo way to map geometry and transfer dictionaries 😍 ; 👉 Speckle - share your IFC model with friends using other software types. Or brag with your model on your phone 👥 . More to come: 👉 like full dxf drawings with details and rebar shop drawings from the same input. 👉 full quantities and cost report on the go. 👉 and that part with the graphs and such. A while ago, I began experimenting with parametric facades using #Revit and #Dynamo. I took a straightforward approach, focusing on the parameters of a single panel and leveraging Dynamo's power to #parametrize the panels. For this experiment, I used #MetricGenericModel, #MetricGenericModelBasedPattern, and #ConceptualMass, along with a simple #Dynamoscript. Today's resume of the BIM world in Munich: 1. Many #CDE solutions struggle in formulating their unique selling point. The two exceptions LIBAL - CDE des Bauherrn with a clear focus on data handover and Novorender as meta CDE to connect the data from different sources. Big Pirate Salute! 2. Many people talk about BIM but few do. It was great to see some planning offices, that offer a their service digitaly enriched. I think this is a great way to go, and to enable smaller offices to compete against the big players. 4. The topic of data flow between different software tools and automation was almost not present! I would go so far as seeing it of a blind spot! I believe this goes together with the observation in point and the common thinking in silos. 5. On a personal note, I need to travel to Germany to talk to some swiss colegues I did not see for a long time. And I met Nikola Jovic and Andreas Kohlhaas for the first time in person. Very nice talking to you! ___ So I guess next year I need a booth at the BIM World selling BIM Pirate merch...
