In collaboration with Moodne Valgustus, KAMP Architects developed the lighting concept for the EANS Flight Control Centre. The interior design was crafted to reflect the company's core focus: air traffic control and management. While the simplest solution might have been to apply acoustic panels to the ceiling, the architects deliberately chose a more innovative approach. They selected a sculptural lighting and acoustic system: HEX-O. The design of the hexagonal HEX-O luminaires integrates seamlessly into the monochrome black-and-white interior. Tengbom Headquarters has been honoured as the Sustainable interior of the Year 2024 by Dezeen Awards in London.   The Swedish architectural firm has created a new headquarters in an old mineral factory dating back to 1934 in Stockholm's lively Hagastaden neighbourhood. Tengbom's aim was to create a pleasant, creative, and functional environment that encourages staff to work at the office rather than from home.    In the interest of sustainability, the lighting solution eases long-term use and flexibility for any new tenant requirements. "Schon während der Schwangerschaft war mir klar: Beruf und Familie will ich vereinen. Mein Plan? Geringfügig während der Karenz arbeiten und die 50/50-Aufteilung mit meinem Mann. Jetzt schläft meine Tochter, und ich nutze die Zeit für den Job – so läuft es bei uns an zwei Tagen die Woche. Meistens klappt es gut, manchmal wird's ein bisschen chaotisch, aber dank flexibler Arbeitszeiten und der Unterstützung meines Mannes lässt sich auch abends mal etwas nachholen. Ich genieße es, den Kontakt zum Team zu halten und geistig am Ball zu bleiben. Im Jänner geht’s dann wieder zurück ins Büro – und ich freue mich darauf, weil ich weiß, dass meine Tochter und mein Mann dann ihre ganz persönliche Bonding-Zeit genießen. Natürlich weiß ich, dass das alles nur möglich ist, weil meine Tochter so gut mitmacht, mein Arbeitgeber die Rahmenbedingungen schafft und ich auf die Unterstützung meines Mannes und der Omas zählen kann." ___________________________________________ Work-family balance: Susanne, Department Head Web & Digital, shares a personal insight into balancing family and career. "During my pregnancy, I already knew I wanted to combine family and career. My plan? To work part-time during maternity leave and split the parental leave 50/50 with my husband. Right now, my daughter is napping, and I’m getting some work done – that’s how we manage things two days a week. Most of the time it works well, sometimes, it’s a bit chaotic. But thanks to flexible working hours and my husband’s support, I can always catch up in the evenings if needed. I love staying connected with my team and keeping my mind engaged. In January, I’ll be heading back to the office – and I’m looking forward to it, knowing my daughter and husband will enjoy their own special bonding time. Shaping the office environment of C&P Immobilien AG in Berlin. The HEX-O sculptural series combines state-of-the-art LED lighting technology with highly efficient sound absorbers, creating an optimal working environment. The microprismatic PMMA cover ensures uniform, glare-free light at the workstations. Three versatile acoustic elements – MODULE, FLAT, and ABSORBER – offer multiple benefits: their felt surface absorbs high-frequency sounds, while the elements' volume attenuates lower frequencies. Additionally, the polygonal shape evenly distributes sound waves, resulting in noticeably balanced acoustics in office spaces. The aim for the canteen at the Energie Steiermark e-campus was to create a flexible system using simple building blocks that could adapt to various spatial configurations. The result is a visually striking vertical and horizontal acoustic baffle system made of high-quality materials. Mounted between suspended tracks, it creates additional space for lighting: desk-specific spotlights are suspended between two horizontal baffles, while the cables of decorative suspended luminaires run discreetly within the shadow gap of a vertical baffle.
