The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is the world's largest regional security organization. Its 57 participating States span the geographical area from Vancouver to Vladivostok. Born in the early 1970s as the Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe, it served as an important multilateral forum for dialogue between East and West during the Cold War. It was also instrumental in tackling the numerous security challenges that arose in Europe after the collapse of communism. Today, the OSCE, its institutions, and its 16 field operations are actively involved in a broad range of security- and stability-related activities including election monitoring, human rights, legislative reform, rule of law and media freedom, as well as combating human trafficking, terrorism and the smuggling of small arms and light weapons.

🤖 Imagine a world where AI bridges language barriers—not for good, but for harm. The latest OSCE Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (CTHB) and Regional Support Office of the Bali Process paper reveals how generative #AI is being exploited to fuel #HumanTrafficking. Criminals now use AI to create deepfake personas, deceive victims, and automate recruitment at scale. It’s time for tech and policy leaders to join forces. Only by working together can we ensure AI serves humanity, not exploitation. Read the paper 👉 https://bit.ly/4fzRzWn

🌍⚠️ Just like threats to the environment can stoke conflict, war and conflict put our planet in danger. Lives lost and demolished cities are common measurements of destruction, but behind the headlines, polluted water wells, torched forests, ravaged fields and barren harvests tells the lesser-known story of war. Our comprehensive approach to security means exploring security threats from all angles, including the threats that war and conflict pose to our planet. On today’s International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict, find out more on the link between environment & security and what we’re doing to help 👉 https://bit.ly/4f9wS3S #EnvironmentalProtection, #EnvironmentconflictDay
