𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗔𝗦-𝗡𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁! 🎧✨ AIRlabs proudly contributed to this important FFG Take-off project UAS-NoiseCheck by successfully creating a SORA, which was approved by Austro Control. This enables the project team to participate in a groundbreaking initiative to better understand and address noise levels in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). While the core project goal is to analyze noise levels, we also had the opportunity to measure additional noise using our own sound level meter. 🎤🔊 The project is led by JOANNEUM RESEARCH, and we are grateful for the collaboration with other key partners: AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Austro Control, twins GmbH - Unbemannte Flugsysteme, ViewCopter and APELEON. The results of this study are eagerly awaited, and we look forward to the valuable insights that will help make UAS technologies more sustainable and less disruptive to both nature and communities. 🌍🚁 🌟 Collaborative efforts like these pave the way for a deeper understanding of UAS noise impacts and their minimization. #UASNoiseCheck #SORA #Innovation #AIRlabs #Research #Sustainability #DroneTechnology #JOANNEUMRESEARCH AIRlabs Austria is a non-commercial innovation laboratory funded by the Bundesministerium für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Energie, Mobilität, Innovation & Technologie as part of the FFG Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH TAKE-OFF programme for the planning, construction and operation of civil drone tests in Austria. Understanding icing is critical for drone operations, especially in unpredictable weather conditions! At AIRlabs Austria, we are proud to support collaborative research like the Austrian Institute for Icing Sciences' recent work on the "All-weather Drone" project. ❄️🚁 #drone #technology #safety #UAV #icing AIRlabs Austria is a non-commercial innovation laboratory funded by the Bundesministerium für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Energie, Mobilität, Innovation & Technologie as part of the FFG Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH TAKE-OFF programme for the planning, construction and operation of civil drone tests in Austria. 𝗜𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗔 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 Icing encounters can lead to rapid and significant ice accumulation on drone propellers within just a few minutes. In a recent case study conducted as part of the #FFG and #BMK-funded 𝘈𝘭𝘭-𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘋𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘦 project, glaze ice formations were observed on 26-inch drone propellers at various icing conditions and operating scenarios. These ice formations drastically degrade the propeller’s aerodynamic profile, leading to increased drag, reduced thrust, and potentially a complete loss of control. Beyond these safety risks, icing places extra strain on motors and batteries, compromising the drone’s flight time and overall performance. Addressing these icing challenges is essential to ensure safe and reliable drone operations. 🚀 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀! In a recent project, AIRlabs collaborated with Dimetor and A1 Telekom Austria AG to conduct a test in the LOR-11 Frauschereck test airspace. Instead of relying solely on calculated data, the mobile network coverage was measured in real time during a flight. This approach allowed us to efficiently and sustainably collect accurate data on the ground. By feeding these measurements into Dimetor's AI (AirborneRF), we were able to refine the mobile network models for safe Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) deployments. With 4G test flights in Frauschereck and plans to expand to other AIRlabs airspace areas, the potential to improve drone operations and communication systems was realised. Want to learn more about these cutting-edge tests and our mobile coverage insights? 📬 Contact us to explore opportunities for collaboration! #drone #technology #BVLOS #mobile #4GTestFlights #AIpowered #innovation #AI #drohnen
