Foreman - Trips

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Supervise the daily operations of equipment and personnel involved in transporting students and staff on special trips, including charters.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification/Experience: High school diploma Good driving record Must have a valid CDL with P & S endorsements State of Texas Bus Drivers Certification SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Computer Knowledge/Use AS400 Knowledge TEAMS Knowledge Familiar with charter company operations and procedures MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Assist in supervising drivers and attendants on all special trips.
Work with athletic department/school administrators in transportation assignments for students and staff.
Establish safest pickup/drop off points for students.
Construct and maintain all maps showing all routes.
Supervise drivers on the best route of travel and make changes as needed.
Coordinate arrangements with staff/sponsors for special trips.
Compute time and distance for special trips.
Coordinate charter trips with district approved companies.
Maintain schedule of district Suburbans and arrange for rentals as needed.
Maintain district approved driver list and coordinate training as needed.
Drive bus as needed and assist in office procedures.
All other duties as assigned by Director of Transportation.
