good mail client

When I first reviewed this app on Mac it crashed frequently. It seems a lot more stable now but still isn't as snappy as I would like. On iOS there are 6 Assistant categories. Mac only has 4. Neither provide an option for the user to train it. The dark mode on Mac is also very dark -- black -- as opposed to MacOS's dark gray. I would like to see dark mode match Mac. Also the backup & sync feature doesn't make much sense to me, because on iOS I had to re-enter every single account on iPhone and every single account on iPad. A sync feature should include the email accounts with an option to enable/disable them on that device. Also it would be nice to see some UI tweaks. The drop shadow when highlighting a message looks dated in modern UI (and also might be impacting app performance). I love that it can display Gmail's labels, but I would like the abillity to colorize these like in Gmail. Lastly I would like the ability to enable/disable focused inbox PER account. And it would be nice to create custom inboxes like OnMail allows.

The best of the bunch so far

I have tried nearly every email client out there for macOS and iOS in search of perfection. While none of them are perfect, Edison gets the closest. The features I look for are PRICE, unified inbox, ability to email from an alias, and support for per-account signatures with images. Edison checks all these boxes, and it's free which is mind-boggling in itself.

The only shortcomings preventing a perfect five stars from me would be the ability to pin individual folders to the sidebar. The unified inbox is nice, and they have some default folders you can show like "All Sent" and "Unread" but I have a couple individual folders in a few accounts I'd like to show in the sidebar with these other default categories. Currently the only way to see them is to expand the entire account and list ALL its folders, where you can hide other individual folders, but then they're always hidden.

The other issue is with notifications. Edison uses an all-or-none approach with the ability to mute specified senders, but I can't think of any scenario where that makes sense. You should be able to mute all by default, and allow notifications from only specific senders like just about every other mail client does, including Apple Mail and Outlook.

It seems like Edison uses the "all-or-nothing" approach in many philosophies, but if we can have a bit more granular control over some of these options, this email client would be absolutely perfect.

Missing a Few Small Things But I Use & Recommend It

If you could more easily add emails to the folders of other accounts you've added to Edison--it would save a lot of time for a buisness like mine, where, having evolved over time, we have multiple accounts: some are old, and some are new, and for some reason we still need to use/have them in some capacity. This feature would help.

Also, if you could somehow make/create/assign tasks in a way that was simple, streamlined and available both in the message and on the menu and on the list of emails itself--it would supercharge the productivity people could get with this app.

There are a few other minor and small things that just seem either to be mising or a little too cumbersome--but overall, after trying a myriad of different email clients, this is the one I use (and come back to whenever I stray to some new shiny object); and this is the one I recommend beacuse its positives far outweigh its small, minor inconveniences.
