Alaska Bead Company is looking for an energetic and outgoing Lead Sales Clerk to work Full-Time, approximately 10am to 6pm, 5 days per week.
We are closed on Sundays.

Alaska Bead Company is a growing Retail Bead company that has a storefront in mid-town Anchorage that has offered beads, findings, tools, beading supplies, and classes for the jewelry making and hobbyist community for over 30 years.
Our planned future growth will lead to many new opportunities and we will be looking to promote from within.
While we have a basic website presence currently at alaskabead.
com, we are going to be expending significant resources in order to launch a new state-of-the-art webstore with a shopping cart that will handle over 10,000 of our product codes in 2025.

Lead Sales Clerk Job Duties:
Important: On the job training is provided for all aspects of your job duties.
1.
Greet customers and assist with purchases and questions.
2.
Demonstrate basic jewelry making techniques to customers as required.
3.
Ensure the overall appearance of the store is welcoming and inspiring.
4.
Lead sales employees by: assigning duties, training them in the Point of Sale software and how to perform their job duties, and monitoring the completion, accuracy, and productivity of their duties.
5.
Motivate sales personnel to do their best by setting good examples regarding sales efforts and keeping a positive attitude among customers and staff members.
6.
Perform data entry on the computer, as needed.
7.
Open and close the store as needed.
8.
Assist with the receipt, processing, and shipping of mail orders.
9.
Discreetly watch customers and perform store security procedures, using judgement to deter shoplifting.
10.
Update signs, store procedures, and forms under the direction of the Store Manager.
11.
Organize and maintain class materials and displays.
12.
Set-up and clean-up classroom for all classes.
13.
Maintain the organization of class folders for materials lists and class handouts under the direction of the Store Manager.
14.
Maintain display art and loaned pieces inventory.
15.
Vacuum, dust, or clean store areas and fixtures as needed.
16.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
1.
High School diploma or G.
E.
D.
required.
2.
Two years of Retail store experience in a supervisorial role; or equivalent experience working with the public in a supervisory role.
3.
Basic knowledge and skill in making beaded jewelry, and/or proficiency in another “Crafty” hobby (e.
g.
, Quilting, Knitting, etc.
).
4.
Must possess a high level of interest in beading.
5.
Must have good writing and math skills.
6.
Must be detail-oriented--very important!
7.
Must have a positive attitude and enjoy working with team members and the public.
8.
Must have excellent computer skills, preferably working with Point of Sale software.
Wage & Benefits:

Paid Accrued Vacation: 10 days (80 hours)/year (Beginning at the end of the 90-day probation period).

Paid Accrued Time Off: 5 days (40 hours)/year (Beginning at the end of the 90-day probation period).
