This position requires frequent lifting, bending, twisting, and carrying heavy objects.
Maintain a neat and orderly donation area both inside and outside.
Assist in other areas of the retail store as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide exemplary customer service, by cheerfully greeting donors at their vehicle with receipt in hand, and assisting donors (if needed) with unloading donations in a timely and courteous manner, and thanking donors and inviting them back Transfer donated items to the appropriate tote, cart or basket, and sort donations by type, not quality Transport stock to and from the workstation and assist truck drivers with loading and unloading donations, supplies and equipment Accurately tally each donation on donation log immediately after it is made and prepare records and reports as requested Identify and properly dispose of garbage and process recyclable materials as appropriate Operate compactors, pallet jacks, tilters and other equipment as needed Ensure that donations are secured indoors when leaving the site (e.
g.
at lunch, end of shift and closing).
Maintain the donation area in a clean and orderly fashion, including picking up grounds around the building, sweeping mopping, dusting, and other cleaning tasks as necessary Experience No experience required Required Skills, Education, Certifications and Licenses Must be at least 18 years of age Must have sufficient command of the English language to communicate with customers, co-workers and supervisors Must have knowledge of safe lifting techniques Must be able to frequently and safely lift heavy objects, stand, walk, carry, push, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, grasp, kneel and climb
