Overview:
Axient is seeking an information systems engineer to support our government customer in Albuquerque, New Mexico to join its team supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) Rapid Architecture Prototyping and Integration Development (RAPID) program.
RAPID is establishing an information systems modeling, simulation, and experimentation facility to accelerate the development of cutting-edge, resilient, space-based data transport architectures.
Under RAPID, Axient bolsters the research and development engineering team with technical expertise, logistics, and operational support.

The Information Systems Engineer will apply broad technical expertise to lead planning, acquisition, installation, and maintenance of the information systems required by users to accomplish work within the RAPID facility.
A more detailed description of responsibilities follows:
Serve as point of authority for all IT-related tasks in the RAPID facility
Coordinate with various enterprise network owners for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all network environments hosted in the facility
Maintain operation of current and lead implementation of new standalone and/or commercial network environments
Maintain documentation of facility physical and logical network topologies
Maintain inventory of facility information systems
Assist in assessments of IT-related requirements to accomplish the objectives of the RAPID program
Coordinate and execute version control program for facility standalone information systems
Conducts market research and procurement of all facility IT-related equipment and/or contracted work in accordance with applicable acquisition and facility regulations
Regularly collaborates with facility security officer and maintenance officer to ensure facility occupant needs are met and facility accreditation is maintained
Assists facility end-users with submission of trouble tickets as needed
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
CCNA, CompTIA Security+ or other technical certification that meets DoD 8570.
01-M IAT Level II requirements and 8+ years of related experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field (computer science, engineering, network specialization, or similar) and 5+ years of experience
Experience in designing, building, integrating, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting diverse network and computing information systems both physical and virtual
Experience supporting various computer hardware and multiple operating systems in both a stand-alone and enterprise environments
Experience working in secure facilities and handling/processing DoD classified information
Requirements
Must hold a SECRET clearance and be able to obtain a TOP SECRET level clearance after hire
Must be able to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations
Must be able to complete and pass a U.

Experience leading teams, coordinating with external organizations, and meeting the needs of stakeholders

Preferences
Working knowledge of DoD Acquisition processes and procedures
