Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the level three Cybersecurity Information System Security Officer (ISSO) position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
As an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of DoD Information Systems.
You will be responsible for guiding the application of IT security control requirements and ensuring compatibility with system and network configurations.
Your expertise will be instrumental in navigating the Risk Management Framework approval process and the sustainment and disposition of DoD Information Systems.
Your responsibilities will include working closely with Certified Defense Contractors to meet continuous monitoring requirements, facilitate change processes, and obtain maintenance approvals from the Security Control Assessor (SCA) and Authorizing Approval Designated Representative (AODR).
Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining organizational networks through account management, auditing, vulnerability scanning, and other ISSO-related duties.
In this role, you will serve as a cybersecurity subject matter expert and advisor to both civilian/military personnel and senior leadership.
Your support will extend to facilitating government inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
We are seeking candidates with a strong background in cybersecurity and experience in managing DoD Information Systems.
Certification in relevant areas such as CISSP or CISM is preferred.
Job Requirements: Skills / Experience Required 10+ years of demonstrated proficiency of relevant DoD experience 6+ years of experience as a Cybersecurity Developer or related functional area Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience implementing Risk Management Framework (RMF) IT security controls and policies Demonstrated proficiency with over a decade of relevant DoD experience Extensive track record of at least six years in Cybersecurity Development or a related specialized field Adaptable to dynamic environments, collaborating effectively within diverse teams to achieve shared goals Offer strategic recommendations to senior leadership, fostering mission success Skillfully distill complex information into easily understandable concepts Proactive approach to issue mitigation, emphasizing prevention over reactive solutions Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail Possess strong critical thinking abilities and adept problem-solving skills Education / Certifications Master of Arts/Science/Engineering in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, MIS, or related degree Relevant work experience/training certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree DoD 8140/DoD 8570 IASAE Level II Certification Benefits Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Flexible Spending Accounts 401(k) PTO Tuition reimbursement Paid federal holidays Security Clearance Must be a U.

A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required.

The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
