Overview: Senior Federal Project Manager - Civil Engineering Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Senior Federal Project Manager for our Albuquerque office with at least 10+ years’ of Federal Project Management experience.
The ideal candidate will be registered Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or PMP.
Location: Albuquerque, NM Employment Type: 40 FT Hours Compensation Type: Salary Registration(s): Professional Engineer, Registered Architect Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineer or Architecture Duties/Responsibilities: Manage multi-discipline design teams providing design services to Federal and Municipal clients Work directly with clients and directing a project staff with varied levels of experience and expertise Duties include initial project research, preparation of proposal/contract, preparation of project work plan and schedule, plan production and management of plan production staff, plan processing and management of plan processing efforts, construction administration and project close out efforts Coordinate client management and marketing efforts for future work Train staff and review work for quality assurance In addition to project management duties, this Sr.
PM will have business development duties to include assisting SF330 preparation and will have strong connections with the Southwest Division USACE, Construction Contractors, and potential teaming partners Consistently deliver proactive communication with clients.
When client issues arise, address or expeditiously escalate to discipline lead Develop relationships with clients and teaming partners that allows for ease in communications and problem solving Qualifications: BS Degree in Engineering or Architecture Must be either a Licensed Engineer (P.
E.
), Registered Architect (R.
A.
) Minimum 10 years experience Experience with Department of Defense criteria/systems to include Unified Facilities Criteria, SpecsIntact, ProjNet, Dr.
Checks Strong connection with Federal Government agencies to include, but not limited to USACE, NAVFAC, GSA.
In addition, diverse experience related to Federal Government projects is a plus Experience with producing accurate and complete construction plans and reports Ability to work independently in a team environment and to manage multiple projects with limited supervision under the direction of a principal/officer of the company Excellent verbal and written skills, communicating technical information clearly and concisely Solid leadership and management skills, self-motivated, and possess a strong ability to meet deadlines, satisfy clients, and solve complex problems Skilled in Business Development and SF330 Preparation Knowledge of CAD/BIM production, Blue Beam and Microsoft Office Highly organized and detail oriented Presentation skills Facilitation skills to include client/design/build partner charrettes Initiate and lead kickoff calls or high-level design calls with client in addition to preparing monthly forecasting and client cost estimates when appropriate Troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions, effectively implement and document for internal and external stakeholders Competencies: Acquires, understands, and applies technical and professional knowledge and skills to perform job effectively, efficiently, and safely.
Understands and adheres to Huitt-Zollars policies and procedures.
Stays abreast of trends and pending changes within assigned area of responsibility.
