Great news: Albania is now a member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC)! This means global sustainability standards and accreditation are now accessible and available. To build on this milestone, we co-hosted the National Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development in #Albania on December 6, 2024, together with the Ministry of Tourism and Environment. The event gathered key stakeholders to discuss and promote sustainable tourism practices. Mrs. Kumbaro Mirela, Minister of Tourism and Environment, and H.E. Ruth Huber, Ambassador of Switzerland, highlighted Albania's commitment to global standards. Insights were shared by Ms. Cordula Wohlmuther from the UN Tourism and Mr. Randy Durband, CEO of #GSTC. Panel discussions covered the National Tourism Strategy and GSTC criteria, and the event concluded with a networking session to foster collaboration between local businesses and three GSTC-accredited certification bodies, such as RoyalCert International Registrars Dream&Charme Srl UCSL United Certification Systems LTD . At Helvetas, we are happy to have facilitated Albania’s membership to GSTC. We join Mr. Durband in encouraging Albania to set the desired minimum standards and work towards them step by step. Diskutimet në panele u ndalën më shumë në Strategjinë Kombëtare të Turizmit dhe kriteret e GSTC. Eventi u përmbyll me një sesion rrjetëzimi për të nxitur bashkëpunimin e biznesve shqiptare me tre trupat certifikuese të akredituar nga GSTC. Konferenca gjithashtu prezantoi studime të suksesshme nga bizneset lokale. Në Helvetas, jemi të lumtur që kemi lehtësuar anëtarësimin e Shqipërisë në GSTC. Ne i bashkohemi rekomandimit të z. On December 5 we hosted "#CareerGuidance in Albania: Present and Future" conference. This event brought together experts, public and private representatives, and stakeholders to discuss the development of career guidance services. The conference was greeted by Ms. Olta Manjani, PhD, Deputy Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation and Mr. Philipp Arnold, Deputy Ambassador of Switzerland to Albania. The keynote from Mrs. Jaana Kettunen showed how AI can revolutionize career guidance, empowering individuals to make better education and employment choices. The conference highlighted the achievements and challenges of implementing career counseling in Albania, the role of state institutions, and the impact of international experiences and technological advancements. The conference concluded with a discussion on the media's role in guiding youth career choices. Over the past 12 years, Helvetas in Albania has significantly contributed to the career guidance ecosystem in Albania through the 'RisiAlbania' project, supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The project has facilitated integration of career education into the school system, supported the creation of master's programs at the University of Tirana, and facilitated establishment of community career guidance offices in municipalities of Tirana, Elbasan Lushnjë and Berat. ▶️ ▶️ ▶️ U zhvillua në 5 dhjetor Konferenca “Këshillimi i Karrierës në Shqipëri: E tashmja dhe e ardhmja”. Ky event bëri së bashku ekspertë, institucione publike dhe private, si dhe aktorë ndryshëm për të diskutuar zhvillimin e shërbimeve të këshillimit të karrierës në vend. Konferenca u përshëndet nga znj. Olta Manjani, Zëvendës Ministre e Ekonomisë, Kulturës dhe Inovacionit dhe z. Philip Arnold, Zëvendës Ambasador i Zvicrës në Shqipëri. Fjala e znj. Jaana Kettunen tregoi se si AI mund të revolucionarizojë këshillimin e karrierës, duke fuqizuar individët të bëjnë zgjedhje më të mira për edukimin dhe punësimin. Konferenca theksoi arritjet dhe sfidat e zbatimit të këshillimit të karrierës në Shqipëri, rolin e institucioneve dhe ndikimin e eksperiencave ndërkombëtare dhe zhvillimeve teknologjike. Në mbyllje u diskutua mbi rolin e medias në orientimin e vazhdueshëm të karrierës së të rinjve. Gjatë 12 viteve të fundit, Helvetas në Shqipëri ka kontribuar ndjeshëm në ekosistemin e këshillimit të karrierës në Shqipëri përmes projektit ‘RisiAlbania’, të #SDC. Projekti ka lehtësuar integruar edukimin e karrierës në sistemin shkollor, ka mbështetur krijimin e programeve të masterit në Universitetin e Tiranës dhe ka lehtësuar ngritjen e zyrave komunitare të këshillimit të karrierës në disa bashki. As youth face the challenges and opportunities of the dual transition to a digital and green economy, career guidance becomes more crucial than ever. The conference highlighted the importance of dynamic and inclusive approaches to empower young people for the evolving labor market. Jaana Kettunen, President of IAEVG, delivered a brilliant presentation, offering innovative perspectives on career guidance practices tailored to these transformative times.
