Question about converting avi to mp4 in Windows PC?
Till now, AVI still has compatibility issue. I can't play them with Windows Media Player and my iPhone as well. I have a collection of AVI video files that I need to convert to MP4 format for better compatibility with my devices and easier sharing online. I’m using a Windows PC running Windows 10, and while I’ve tried a few basic AVI to MP4 conversion methods, I’m not satisfied with the quality or the time it takes to process the files. Additionally, some of my AVI files are quite large, so finding a solution that handles batch conversions efficiently is important to me. I’m open to all suggestions in order to convert avi to mp4 without quality loss, as long as they offer reliable performance and maintain high video quality during the conversion process. Apologies in advance for what will sound like a clueless newb post, the type that usually prompts replies like "use the search function" or "why haven't you read this or that existing thread that answers your exact question." I'll just say that I'm dealing with some seriously urgent things at the minute and can't summon the energy to scrape through a lot of threads. And so... I keep seeing the little icon on my taskbar hoping to entice me to move from 23H2 to 24H2. -Any reason that waiting to install it would be a bad decision? The last thing I need is a time sink to fix a newly installed problem. -Are there known issues for a garden-variety user with Chrome browsing, MS Office, Quicken, and other odds and ends on a Lenovo tablet? -Is there a performance difference vs 23H2, better or worse? My computer is coming up on 3 years old and that's getting close to the age when I've sometimes found further OS upgrades to slow down a computer. My last PC, I stopped upgrading at 4 or 5 years (other than virus definitions, of course) and it ran quite well until it was 10 years old.File Explorer ignoring UNBLOCKED file status with 24H2
FILE EXPLORER IGNORING UNBLOCKED FILE STATUS AFTER DOWNLOAD AND UNBLOCK I updated to Win 11 23H2 --> 24H2 some days ago. Yesterday I used Mark Russinovich tool "Streams" to manually remove from CMD prompt the "file comes from another computer..." warning, e.g.: Today I noticed I have a problem with Zone.Identifier ADS files: File Explorer is extremely slow to update file status "unblocked" after I unblock it, andstill reports the file is coming from another PC. When I try to unblock it again, I get this error ("can't find file". I suppose it is correct since Zone.Identifier ADS files should have been removed: The problem remains: File Explorer is ignoring the unblocked file status. Even after 5 mins the file is still "coming from another PC..." (???) when I choose Properties. Sometimes randomly, after a while, when I check again the unblocked status it is finally acknowledged by File Explorer. dir /r on the previously unblocked files from File Explorer shows the SmartScreen:$DATA is still there... Zone.Identifier:$DATA is gone instead. Which is OK I guess. Quick test: download a file from Edge with SmartScreen enabled, then with right-mouse-button select Properties and unblock the file. Now re-open Properties for that file... Reproducible also from Safe Mode (!). Is it a new File Explorer bug in 24H2? I recently encountered a vexing problem, I can't convert AAC to MP3! 😭 The thing is, I have a bunch of AAC audio files, about 3GB, and I can listen to them with headphones, but my car audio doesn't support AAC! It's really terrible that I can't listen to music while driving, so I want to convert them all to MP3 format. I am a newbie using Win11 system. I have tried several tools before, but there are too many problems: freac: I tried it, but the interface feels very old, and I have to adjust a lot of parameters, which is a headache. Online aac to mp3 converter: This is even more outrageous. The upload is slow, and the download is charged. The quality of the converted file is also average. Auacity: It seems to be usable, but the operation is a bit complicated. I don't understand a lot of settings for importing and exporting. So I want to ask all the big guys: Is there any reliable AAC to MP3 conversion tool recommended? It's best to be a simple one without a bunch of messy functions. When converting, how should I choose the bitrate (e.g. 192kbps or 320kbps)? Will it affect the sound quality or file size? If it is for car audio playback, are there any precautions? I recently saw some WebP images online that looked pretty good, but I wanted to convert webp to SVG for some design projects. I tried many methods, but I couldn't find a direct way. 😩 I looked for some webp to svg tools online, but most of them were paid or the conversion was very poor. There are also some online tools, but they are maddeningly slow and the quality of the conversion is not guaranteed. I would like to ask everyone, is there a simple and free way to convert WebP images directly to SVG format? Or, is there some image editing software that can support this conversion? Any idea why it works this way I have 240hz screen and I limit the games speed to 60fps(I don't see much difference at above 60fps or maybe because I have never played at above 60fps before(on my old weaker laptop)) If vsync is enabled,I have random stuttering\fps drops on any game(no matter the settings)and if it is not enabled,I have solid 60fps. So why is that?
Upgrade to 24H2 de-activated Windows
I upgraded to 24H2 earlier this week. It took a while but finally everything looked OK. I was previously on 23H2 (and wish I'd stayed on that version). I'm now getting prompted to activate Windows. I have a pro key which I purchased when I built this PC in January 2024. I've never had problems with this key. So I tried Troubleshoot but no solution. I then went to Change Key, and entered my existing key. It wouldn't accept the key, with the error message Key already used. Of course it has been used - to activate this very PC. I haven't changed any hardware in the 11 months since I built it. Anyone have any ideas? Microsoft tech support is not answering their phone this week apparently.
Lifecycle Management of Winget Package identifier
Can someone point me in the right direction for the answer to the question about the lifecycle management of Winget package identifiers? The question is whether an ID that was in use can ever be reused if the original package no longer exists, and whether it is theoretically possible that a completely different app would be installed on a system via an update function, in case a new app is registered with the same id?

I installed Windows 11 on a newly built pc a couple weeks ago. However,I didn't need a password to login before, and it's asking me to change my password now. The username displayed is "User". I just purchased the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 plus, everything is fine but there is a single little issue I'm listening music ( YouTube, Brave browser) i can't turn off the screen or else the music will stop playing Is there a way to fix this? Tried everything possible, Control Panel - all those options with Power Options... Turn off the display, etc. I've use Android and stil have another tablet but I'd like to stick with Windows. I have a DAC, amplifier and the headphones, Windows is much better, many options, equalizer, etc If I can't find a way to fix this issue, I'd like to buy YouTube Premium but not sure if it's possible on Windows tablets, to turn off the screen while listening music. I kept Control folder access ON for now as I can manually allow blocked actions. But I might also turn this other feature OFF in the future as I'm slowly getting tired of it too. It blocks some actions made by Steam, Ubisoft Connect, etc. when I start a particular game. Too much hassle manually allowing blocked actions.What's the best vocals remover tool for Windows 11 PC?
Can anyone tell me what is the best vocals remover tool for Windows 11? I have a few old songs MP3, and I want to isolate vocal to make them into accompaniment. I have checked a lot of methods recently, but I am confused and the effect is so-so. I have tried Audcity, but I feel that the operation is complicated. There is always a little bit of vocals left after the removal, and the background music is also unclear.
