Multiply Group has declared 2024 the Year of Efficiency. But what does that mean for us? The past few years have been marked by a strong acquisition drive, seeing Multiply Group deploy AED 15 billion and acquire numerous businesses across our verticals. Under the scope of the Year of Efficiency, our objective now is to buckle down to extract value and drive efficiencies across these businesses, thanks to the dedicated post-acquisition talent we have onboarded. Multiply Group has identified across its portfolio areas of EBITDA uplift worth up to AED 45 million run-rate. 50% of this will come from revenue synergies (e.g. geographic expansion, cross-selling and value-accretive bolt-ons), up to 40% through cost optimization (e.g. back-office integration and streamlining procurement) and up to 10% from Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence initiatives that look to enhance customer acquisition and automate processes. Multiply Group’s efficiency programme, which launched in Q2, has started yielding results, achieving over AED 5 million of efficiency gains (over 10% of the Group’s AED 45 million run-rate target). Qatar 🇶🇦 2024-11-26. KAHRAMAA Facility E Independent Water & Power Production (IWPP) 2400 MW of power and 100 MIGD of potable water Samsung C&T Corporation construction division (Samsung C&T) has won an order for a $2.84 billion combined freshwater power generation project in Qatar. Samsung C&T Corporation announced on the 26th that it has won an order for the Qatar Facility E freshwater complex power generation project, which was ordered by KAHRAMAA, the Qatar Water Authority, and selected by the Sumitomo Consortium of Japan as a business operator. The EPC (design, procurement, and construction) amount alone is $2.84 billion (about KRW 3.9709 trillion), and Samsung C&T will carry out it alone. The project is to build a combined thermal power generation that generates up to 2400 MW (megawatts) of electricity and a large-scale freshwater combined power generation that produces an average of 500,000 tons of water per day in the Fontas region of Las Abu, about 18 kilometers southeast of the Qatari capital Doha. The total cost of the project is $3.7 billion. When the project is completed in 2029, it will be responsible for about 16% of Qatar's total electricity and 17% of fresh water.
