Notably, non-oil GDP is anticipated to rise by 4.7% annually for both 2024 and 2025, showcasing the country's economic diversification efforts. The introduction of a federal corporate tax aims to further bolster government finances, signaling a shift towards revenue diversification beyond the oil sector. However, it's interesting to note the disparity between the Central Bank's optimistic projections and the more conservative figures put forth by the World Bank. One of Abu Dhabi’s newest state-backed investment companies is looking at dozens of potential new deals as it plans to build an artificial intelligence-powered healthcare champion that it can expand across the world. M42 Health, which was established through the combination of the healthcare assets of two of Abu Dhabi’s investment firms last year, is eying potential acquisitions and expansions of its operations into Europe, Latin America and Asia, according to chief executive officer Hasan Jasem Al Nowais. “We continue to screen about 50 opportunities on a monthly basis to see what will really complement our strategic plans going forward,” Al Nowais said in an interview in Abu Dhabi. “We have the appetite, and there’s a real hunger for growth.” The comments are the latest sign of the oil-rich emirate’s vast ambitions in industries from technology and life sciences to finance.
