Power Bi is not only a visualization tool which it is often misunderstood, but a complete business intelligence platform. Here is how I have been using Power Bi to drive Marketing insights. -Processing and cleaning data using the inbuilt transformation functions. -Creating custom columns for data filtration -Mix of charts and graphs to show channel performance -Observe performance over time with the help of trend lines Creating custom measures to highlight key metrics. While it's been an interesting process, I'm still working on learning efficient data model creation and writing DAX code to speed up insights. How have you been using Power Bi and what stood out? Here’s my latest submission for the #MavenDataChallenge on UK National Rail Performance conducted by Maven Analytics. This Power BI dashboard is designed to help understand various aspects of Railway Operations. It covers areas like Sales and Revenue Trends, Ticket Types and Classes, Passenger Purchase Behaviour, Journey Performance, Station Performance, Refund Analysis, and Time-Based Trends. Following are the Analyses that have been made from the dashboard: ·       The top route, London Kings Cross to York, generated the highest revenue at £183,193 with 3922 journeys and 560 rail card holders. ·       Significant delays and high refund counts are noted on certain routes, such as Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston. ·       Routes such as Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston experienced significant delays, impacting overall journey satisfaction. ·       Credit cards were the most preferred payment method, followed by contactless payments and debit cards. ·       A substantial number of transactions involved rail cards, with adult rail cards being the most common, followed by disabled and senior rail cards. ·       On-Time Performance: Most journeys were on time, but many delays were attributed to specific issues such as signal failures and technical problems. ·       Technical issues and signal failures were the primary reasons for refund requests, indicating areas for operational improvements. ·       Refund requests varied by day, with certain periods experiencing higher refund volumes, potentially linked to operational disruptions. ·       Significant sales and journey activities were observed during morning and evening peak hours. ·       Standard class tickets, particularly advance tickets, generated the highest revenue, indicating a preference among customers for cost-effective travel options. ·       The route from Manchester Piccadilly to Liverpool Lime Street is the busiest, with 4628 journeys. Other highly frequented routes include London Euston to Birmingham New Street with 4209 journeys and London Paddington to Reading with 3873 journeys. ·       Edinburgh Waverley has the highest average delay duration at 15.27 minutes, significantly higher than the other stations.
