Genuine question to financial advisers in Dubai who sell "regular savings plans" - "Would you invest in one of these personally?" Once again I've just received details on another regular savings plan that was sold to a client around 7 years ago. The basics are: - Client has invested £60,000 in regular premiums - Current plan Value is just £60,037 due to excessive fees (0% growth when the average client portfolio according to Private client indices is up circa 45% in this time) - Cash in Value is only £42,000 due to early encashment penalties. - 17 years until he can encash in full without penalty as this was sold on a 24 year term and was front loaded with commission. Unfortunately, I'm still coming across Client's every week being "advised" to take these products out. If you are looking for financial advice, please read the small print to understand the effects of commissions and product charges. This could save you a fortune!!

How to incentivise key management when the owner is selling for millions A while ago we helped a client exit their business via an EOT This was a business that had been build ready for the day of sale - There was a Managing Director, Commercial Director and Ops Director - Middle management overseeing details - Well-functioning back office No wonder it was valued at well into 8 figures. There was one concern though Those 3 directors were important once the seller exited The seller needed to make sure they were incentivised to run the ship so he got his regular payments following the EOT So how did we help him do it? 📌 The MD, CD and OD all got to buy into the company as part of the whole deal 📌 Now with shares they own directly - they are more incentivised to stick around 📌 And the business is booming - the business is forecasting its best year next year With this approach on the EOT, literally everyone wins
