💡 It took me 4 years to reach the Senior Engineer level. Here are 5 key skills that got me there: 1. Mastering when and how to apply these makes a big difference in developing high-quality software. 3. Cloud Computing and Azure 🔹 The cloud is integral to modern software infrastructure. Familiarity with essential Azure services is a must for designing scalable, efficient solutions. 4. DevOps Practices and CI/CD Pipelines 🔹 Seamless software delivery hinges on strong DevOps practices. Building and maintaining effective CI/CD pipelines is a core skill for ensuring continuous integration and deployment. 5. Microservices and Containerization 🔹 Building scalable, cloud-ready .NET systems involves understanding microservices architecture and how to leverage containerization effectively to manage them. Someone asked me how do I keep update in terms of new languages features, here some JavaScript, React, Next.js Frontend Masters (need to renew my subs tho) some youtubers channels C#, .net core Dometrain some youtubers channels specially with Stephen or Scott Those are good source of education to become a better dev. Unconventional way I also like: - Being in bootcamps (it doesn't matter the level) - Teaching juniors about something - Having any course on the way (any!!) - Looking into Open Source project and discovering what they're doing to solve their problems, honestly this one is really really good! I just updated an old app I have not touched in several years from Angular 9 to Angular 18 and the migration process was extremely simple. The only gotcha was having to run `ng generate @angular/material:mdc-migration` going from Angular 16 to 17. Great job to Angular team for making the upgrade process as seemless as possible. #angular

(Copied post) A good developer is easily replaceable, but you can’t replace a bad one. Why? Traits of a good developer - Their code is clean and readable. - Anyone can modify their code without fear. - When they leave, the project continues smoothly. - Their code is well-organized and follows standards. - They write tests to ensure nothing breaks unexpectedly. - The project can be handed off without much explanation. - They leave behind clear documentation for everything they work on. A Bad Developer is Irreplaceable (in the worst way) - Documentation? It’s all in their head. - When they leave, you’re stuck cleaning up the mess. - They rarely write tests, leaving the project vulnerable. - Only they can decipher the complexity of their own code. - Making changes feels risky, as their code isn’t easy to adapt. - Their shortcuts and messy work cause long-term headaches. - Touching their code feels like walking on a minefield—you don’t know what might break.
