With over 20 years of experience in integrated marketing communications across India, the UK, Germany, and the UAE, I’ve built a career navigating and thriving in diverse markets. My expertise spans sports marketing, governance, broadcast, corporate communications, and nation branding, where I've consistently turned challenges into opportunities. In my last full-time role at the International Cricket Council (ICC), I led global PR and corporate reputation programmes. However, a pivotal moment in my life—the passing of my father—led me to reassess my career and focus on what truly matters. This reflection prompted me to transition to independent consulting, where I found the space to balance professional ambitions with personal well-being. Now, I’m the Founder and CEO of GOOD DAY PR and Strategic Communications - Global, an offshoot of Good Day Cork. This consultancy is dedicated to supporting clients worldwide who are committed to shaping society positively. We focus on key sectors such as sports, media, entertainment, technology, healthcare, and non-profit organisations, offering strategic communications solutions that amplify their messages and values. At GOOD DAY PR, we are particularly passionate about giving a voice to underrepresented groups, especially women and women-led businesses of colour. We believe in empowering these voices and ensuring they receive the recognition they deserve. Our consultancy is open for business and actively seeking clients globally, with a particular focus on the UAE, South Asian, and Indo-German markets. I am also available for fractional roles, projects, and retainer clients. If you’re interested in collaborating, please feel free to get in touch. It’s All Over: The Kiss That Changed Spanish Football is a powerful Netflix documentary that chronicles the Spanish women’s national team’s historic World Cup victory and the controversy that overshadowed their success. What makes this film particularly compelling is its focus on the players themselves—champions whose voices reclaimed a narrative that systemic injustice tried to suppress. The documentary doesn’t shy away from addressing the fallout faced by whistleblowers—those who stood up against the inappropriate actions of the football federation president, Luis Rubiales. Their courage came at a cost, as they faced professional and personal backlash for speaking out. This ripple effect extended to the entire team, impacting morale and unity as they navigated a system resistant to accountability and change. Despite the challenges, the team’s solidarity and determination to demand respect became a powerful symbol for women in sport globally. Through candid interviews, raw footage, and empathetic storytelling, the filmmakers highlight the resilience of these players, not just as athletes but as individuals fighting for justice and equality. The documentary brings to light the systemic issues in Spanish football and the broader struggles faced by women in sports, while celebrating the courage it takes to stand up to power. This isn’t just about football; it’s a story of resilience, unity, and the price of change. Available now on Netflix, it’s a must-watch for anyone who believes in justice and equality in sport and beyond. At GOOD DAY PR & Strategic Communications FZ LLC, we are inspired by stories like these—stories of hard-fought battles, resilience, and the courage to demand change. We believe in amplifying the voices of those who stand up for what’s right, even in the face of adversity. If you have a story that deserves to be heard, we’re here to help. Reach out, and let’s bring your story to the world.

History often reserves its spotlight for a select few, leaving many extraordinary stories in the shadows. One such tale is of Edward Peters, affectionately known as “Black Peter,” whose journey spans continents, cultures, and resilience. Born in Satara, Maharashtra, around 1826, Peters’ life was marked by perseverance and humility, leaving an indelible mark on New Zealand’s history. Edward Peters, like many Indians of his time, sought work on ships, eventually reaching the Californian goldfields during the 1840s. Here, he learned the art of prospecting. By 1853, he arrived in New Zealand, initially as a ship’s cook, before his prospecting instincts led him to discover gold in the Tuapeka region in 1857—years before the Otago gold rush officially began. Peters lived humbly among the Māori, marrying into the community and adopting their way of life. His integration highlights the historical connections between Indian sailors (lascars) and the Māori people, stretching back as early as 1810. These relationships were rich in cultural exchange, with Indians contributing skills in navigation, military tactics, and even embracing tā moko, sacred Māori tattoos. This connection between India and New Zealand, especially through my home state of Maharashtra, reveals a shared history of resilience, migration, and cultural exchange. Edward Peters was part of a larger story of how people from India—like the lascars before him—helped shape the communities they became part of. His journey is a reminder of the enduring ties that have quietly connected our two nations, often through individuals who bridged cultures with humility and purpose. Despite his discoveries paving the way for economic transformation in New Zealand, Peters’ contributions remained unrecognised. Gabriel Read was credited with sparking the Otago gold rush in 1861, while Peters—hampered by systemic racism and colonial inequities—never benefited from his findings. He passed away a poor man in 1893, leaving behind a legacy overshadowed but no less significant. Stories like these—of unsung heroes, overlooked connections, and global heritage—are what make us at GOOD DAY PR & Strategic Communications FZ LLC PR excited. They remind us of the power of storytelling to uncover the past, celebrate resilience, and inspire the present. Edward Peters’ story is a call to action: to amplify the voices of those who remain unheard, to honour their contributions, and to ensure their legacies are celebrated. Because history is not just about those who held power—it is about everyone who made it. Together, we can give voice to the voiceless and ensure no one is forgotten. If this story resonates with you, share it, start a conversation, or reflect on the unsung heroes in your own life or community. Let’s keep discovering and telling these incredible stories—because everyone’s contribution matters.

Growing up, Audrey Hepburn was my style icon—there was a timeless elegance about her that I couldn’t resist. Watching her in My Fair Lady was unforgettable. As Eliza Doolittle, she wasn’t just transformed on the outside; she evolved from within. That journey from a witty, sharp-tongued flower girl to someone who could hold her own in any room was a masterclass in what we now call “personal branding”. It wasn’t about becoming someone else; it was about discovering her truest self and sharing it with the world. This story of transformation has been told in different ways, from Shaw’s Pygmalion to the Marathi adaptation by P.L Deshpande in - Ti Phulrani. But in every version, the message remains the same: personal branding is about embracing who you are, refining it, and sharing it unapologetically. So why does personal branding matter, to me? In my own journey across countries, industries, and roles, personal branding has been more than just a way to stand out. It’s about crafting a consistent narrative that reflects my values, my quirks, and the unique experiences I bring to the table. Building a personal brand has helped me bridge cultural gaps, forge connections, and stay true to myself no matter where life has taken me. At GOOD DAY PR & Strategic Communications FZ LLC, we bring that same thoughtful, authentic approach to personal branding: -> Crafting your story with Heart We dig deep to understand your values, experiences, and aspirations, making sure your story resonates with the right people. -> Building meaningful Visibility From strategic social media to media placements, we position you where it counts, ensuring your voice reaches the right audience. -> Adapting as You Grow Like Eliza’s journey, personal branding is ongoing. We’re here to ensure your brand grows as you do, aligned with your goals and true to who you are. And in the spirit of Audrey, here’s a fun final note: While she wasn’t much of a drinker in her younger years (or, if she was, she kept it quiet), later on, she reportedly enjoyed a good scotch neat from time to time. Here’s to timeless elegance, rich stories, and the occasional well-deserved dram. And if any of you here, would like to know more about how you can build your own personal brands, feel free to reach out / DM. #personalbranding #pr #strategiccomms #storytelling #audreyhepburn #whiskylovers #gooddaypr

Public Relations, Public Affairs, Strategic Communications, and Government Relations – What’s the Difference? After more than two decades in the field, I’ve seen how these areas can overlap, but each requires a unique approach. To make it easier to understand, I’m simplifying these definitions with some stories from my journey. Public Relations (PR) is about managing perceptions and telling the right story. During the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the UAE and Oman, in the middle of a pandemic, our challenge was to promote the tournament despite limited crowds. We had to ensure fans worldwide felt the excitement digitally. PR is all about adapting, managing risks, and ensuring the brand remains strong, even under tough conditions. Public Affairs (PA) involves working with governments to influence policy and secure necessary approvals. At the ICC, we collaborated with various governments to ensure international tournaments ran smoothly, proving that cricket was more than just a game—it was a vital cultural and economic event. It’s similar to how companies like Airbnb work with local governments to navigate regulations while ensuring their business benefits local economies. Strategic Communications is all about the long-term vision. When we launched the 100% Cricket Future Leaders programme in 2021, it wasn’t just about making headlines—it was about creating a programme and crafting a narrative that would inspire women in sports leadership for years to come. It gave female leaders the boost they needed to grow in their leadership journey in cricket. Government Relations is about direct collaboration with government bodies. A great example is the partnership between Star India and the Indian government for Khelo India. We worked closely with the Union Minister of Sports, the Sports Authority of India (SAI), and other key government bodies to promote grassroots sports development across the country. It wasn’t just about media; it was about securing long-term policy support to make sure the initiative had real impact. Similar to how large corporations engage with governments to shape regulations, this partnership ensured our goals aligned with national priorities. So, whether you’re managing media narratives, working with policymakers, or developing long-term strategies, each area requires a unique approach. At GOOD DAY PR & Strategic Communications FZ LLC, we specialise in crafting tailored strategies across these areas. Whether it’s navigating government regulations, managing a brand’s reputation, or building long-term narratives, we ensure your communication goals hit the mark, every time. The Power of Persuasion and Negotiation in PR and Communications: In the world of PR and Communications, persuasion and negotiation are not just skill sets—they are the essence of what we do. At the heart of every strategy, campaign, and message lies the ability to shape perceptions, influence decision-making, and create meaningful change. Persuasion is about crafting narratives that resonate, that connect with audiences on an emotional and intellectual level. It’s the art of aligning the interests of stakeholders with the truth of the brand, steering conversations in ways that are authentic and grounded in trust. Negotiation, on the other hand, is what helps us bring these narratives to life. Whether negotiating with stakeholders, media partners, or internal teams, it’s about finding the balance between competing interests, navigating challenges, and securing outcomes that benefit all parties involved. These skills are not just central to strategy, but also underpin everything we do—be it writing, creative thinking, media relations, or crisis management. They elevate not only the impact of our work but also our careers. Mastering the art of persuasion and negotiation is key to building influence, gaining trust, and leading effectively in our field. In my career, these skills have been indispensable in every campaign, from managing crises to building thought leadership platforms. They are as critical as any technical ability in our field, and I truly believe they separate good communicators from great ones. At GOOD DAY PR & Strategic Communications FZ LLC, these principles guide everything we do, helping our clients navigate challenges and elevate their brands with confidence. Here’s to always speaking truth to power—and negotiating a path to success.

In 2011, I had the privilege of heading communications for the 'Deutschland Jahr in Indien' (The Year of Germany in India). One of my key tasks was to build a marketing and communications team from the ground up, managing PR, social media, and sourcing a PR agency in India for this major diplomatic initiative. Given the project was funded by the German government, we had to follow strict European tendering procedures, which was a first for me. With support from my diplomatic colleagues, we navigated the complex process, ensuring transparency and open competition. It was a meticulous task, as even the smallest oversight could have caused delays we simply couldn’t afford. We crafted a tender that attracted the right Indian partner, they stood out not just for their credentials but for introducing every team member who’d work directly with us, rather than just sending senior executives who often disappear post-contract. From my years in PR, I’ve learned that clients want creativity, but they also value the team’s commitment and involvement. For agencies, ensuring your team is well-prepared and present during a pitch is crucial. At Good Day PR and Strategic Communications, we bring this same dedication, attention to detail, and personal touch to every client project. We’re not just about winning the pitch—we’re about delivering results with the team you’ll meet from day one. Looking to elevate your brand with a dedicated PR partner? Let’s make it a good day. When my generation began in PR, we were immersed in operational and admin tasks, tracking client news in English and regional language papers. We’d compile everything into a report, ensuring it was in our client's inbox before sunrise—by 8:15 a.m., our daily news report, complete with a scanned summary and handy index, was ready to accompany their morning chai or coffee. Fast forward to the era of coverage-tracking agencies and online alerts. We transitioned from fixed schedules to real-time updates. While setting up client-specific alerts was initially tedious, it taught us to read every newspaper, English and regional, daily. This habit of navigating sections, recognising bylines, and building relationships with reporters has remained invaluable. Though technology has transformed news coverage, with agencies using sophisticated tools, I still advocate reading as many papers as possible. It sharpens your industry knowledge and strengthens media connections. For those new to the Indian market: India boasts the world’s second-largest newspaper market, with daily papers reporting over 240 million copies as of 2018. Publications are produced in all 22 scheduled languages and many regional languages. Hindi newspapers lead in circulation, followed by English and Telugu. Remember, advertising largely funds these papers. Despite the challenges faced during COVID-19, the print industry is rebounding. EY’s 2023 Media & Entertainment Report reveals a 10% growth in 2022, reaching 85% of pre-pandemic levels and crossing the Rs 260-billion revenue mark in 2023. With TV facing competition from OTT platforms, print remains a strong advertising option. The report highlights that advertising comprised 67% of the print segment’s income in 2023, up from 63% in 2020. By 9 a.m. daily, my fingers were stained black from scanning the news. Even at Star Sports, I was the first to send news clips and links to colleagues, CXOs, and team leads. In the many tournament and project WhatsApp groups I was part of, sharing relevant coverage became a morning ritual—scan, pick out key bits, and send them off. It’s the PR version of an early morning workout! At Good Day PR and Strategic Communications, we embody the spirit of staying ahead. If you need expert guidance in the ever-evolving media landscape, we’re here to help. Start your day with the news, and let’s keep your brand at the forefront.
