We are delighted to share the successful conclusion of the final session in the ISPOR KSU and CCHO collaborative series. This session focused on patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and their applications, providing participants with a deeper understanding of their role in healthcare decision-making, effective PRO measures in Health Economics and Outcomes Research, and real-world applications in Saudi Arabia. The session will feature esteemed speakers Dr. Russell Becker and Dr. Youmna Bassil, PharmD from CCHO, alongside Dr. Shiekha AlAujan from King Saud University (KSU). This workshop will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), emphasizing its importance in decision-making and policy formulation. Attendees will learn to identify and differentiate between various economic models, such as cost-effectiveness, budget impact, cost-utility, and cost-benefit analyses, while exploring their applications and determining the most appropriate model for evaluating healthcare interventions. Additionally, the workshop will include a review of an economic evaluation study conducted in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, highlighting the methods used to identify, measure, and value cost and outcomes data. CCHO is pleased to announce its participation at #ISPOREurope2024 through the co-authorship and submission of two impactful posters: Implementation of a National Value-Based Insurance Drug Formulary in the Saudi Private Health Sector (Abstract ID #145514) and Assessing Direct Medical Costs of Stage IV NSCLC in Iraq from a Public Payer Perspective (Abstract ID #143588). These posters were developed in collaboration with esteemed healthcare executives from the UDF project in Saudi Arabia and the Iraq's Ministry of Health, respectively.
