🌍 Alpine Group at Asia-Pacific Textile & Apparel Supply Chain EXPO & SUMMIT 2024 (APTEXPO 2024) As the textile and apparel industry’s largest manufacturing hub, the Asia-Pacific region plays a vital role in shaping a sustainable future for fashion. 🌿 Attending @APTEXPO 2024 in Singapore earlier this week, reinforced this essential role. Hosted by the Singapore Fashion Council and organized by MP Singapore and CCPIT TEX Global at Marina Bay Sands, the event centered around the theme “Re-engineering Towards a Resilient, Adaptive, and Sustainable Supply Chain.” With thought-provoking speakers and panel discussions on supply chain resilience, digitalization, and sustainability, here are some of our key takeaways: 1. Globalizing the EU Textile Strategy 🌿 🌍 Dirk Vantyghem, Director General of EURATEX - European Apparel and Textile Confederation, emphasized the need to expand EU textile sustainability standards globally. Aligning international efforts with these standards is crucial for a sustainable future, promoting streamlined practices, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing accountability. This alignment could also strengthen trade between Europe and Asia-Pacific, fostering a sustainable framework for the entire supply chain. 2. Unlocking Frontier Technology and Digitalization 🚀 Deepika Rana COO at Li & Fung, discussed the importance of regional collaboration to transform global supply chains amid disruptions and evolving compliance. Advanced technology—data-driven design, AI forecasting, inventory optimization, and digital visibility—will be vital. Jonas Wand, CEO of FOURSOURCE, echoed this, highlighting AI’s potential to reshape the industry, as seen in real-time, demand-driven models. He noted AI could add $275 billion in profits, though full integration will take time. 3. Increased Investment in Sustainability 🌿 💰 💰 Sunny Huang, Executive Director at New Wide Group, shared insights on the cost of sustainability, stressing that “There are no shortcuts. There are no work-arounds. What is needed to get the job done is money, money, and more money.” At Alpine Group, we are inspired and excited to be part of this movement towards a resilient and sustainable industry. Together, we can push the needle forward. 💪 🧵 🌿 #AlpineGroup #APTEXPO2024 #SustainableFashion #Innovation #SupplyChain #AsiaPacific

Taking inspiration from Fast Company Innovation Festival NYC 2024! Last week, our team had the privilege of attending the 10th anniversary of the Fast Company Innovation Festival in NYC. The festival’s theme, “The 10 Most Interesting People Over The Last 10 Years,” featured star-studded speakers like Ryan Reynolds, Issa Rae, Jose Andres, Satya Nadella, Pat McGrath, and Lina Khan, offering diverse insights from film, food, tech, beauty, and beyond. From Issa Rae to Lin-Manuel Miranda, the panels were filled with energy, humour, and wisdom. A standout moment was Lin-Manuel Miranda's thought-provoking reminder that “misinformation travels faster than the truth”—a timely reflection in today’s fast-paced world. A highlight was the screening of “Green Champions: How Business Leaders Can Drive and Inspire Climate Action,” showcasing how leaders like Matthias Martensen (Cofounder and CEO, OSTROM), Jayshree Seth (Corporate Scientist and Chief Science Advocate, 3M), and Eugene Kirpichov (Cofounder and Executive Director, WORK ON CLIMATE) are driving sustainability across industries. The takeaway? We must challenge ourselves and others to make connections between our work and sustainability—it’s a mindset we’re embracing at Alpine Group. Kudos to Fast Company for an unforgettable event and for championing conversations that push us all toward a more sustainable future! #FastCompanyInnovationFestival #Innovation #Sustainability #AlpineGroup

We are honoured to announce that Egyptian Prime Minister Mr. Moustafa Madbouli visited Alex Apparels, Alpine Group’s Egypt based garment manufacturing division, during his tour of the free investment zone in Alexandria earlier this month. Accompanying the Prime Minister was Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry, Mr. Kamel Wazir, along with Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mr. Hassan Khatib, Alexandria Governor, Mr. Ahmed Khaled Hassan, and CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), Mr. Hossam Heiba. The special visit, which garnered wide media attention, saw the Prime Minister and the other dignitaries being greeted by Alex Apparel’s Board Chairman, Mr. Ehab Mohi, and taken on a tour of our Alex 11 facility, where they were able to inspect all stages of our manufacturing process. With over 30 years of heritage in Egypt, we have continued to scale our operations. Our Alex 11 facility as well as our new Paradise Textiles mill, which, once operational, will bring fabric closer to needle, are testament to this fact, underlining our dedication to cutting-edge manufacturing, enhancing our production capabilities and reinforcing our commitment to quality and innovation in the textile industry. As part of the visit, the Prime Minister took the time to speak to members of our production floor team, discussing our soft skills training programs, which include financial health as well as wellbeing initiatives, including breast cancer awareness sessions. The team also discussed our female empowerment projects – notably our Dignity Kits program, which aims to tackle period poverty and reach 250,000 females by 2025. Today, our factories employ 8,500 team members, with around 70% being women and, with our ambitious expansion plans, our team is set to grow. Our “Factory of the Future,” which is due to open in Q1 2025, will represent the future of apparel manufacturing, creating an additional 2,000 jobs for the local community. This further underlines our commitment to economic growth and development in Egypt. The Prime Minister, along with the Minister of Investment and the Alexandria Governor, said they were impressed by our operations and took a group photo with our team members, which was an unusual but welcome gesture. In addition to this honour, our achievements at Alex Apparels, including our collaborations with international brands and our quality garments, were highlighted in a high-level overview video which featured as breaking news on eXtra News Channel six times in one day, underscoring its significance not only in Egypt, but across the Middle East. #ManufacturingExcellence #Innovation #TextileIndustry #AlpineGroup #AlexApparels

This week, our Head of Innovation, Lewis E. Shuler II, participated in a panel discussion, focused on how to make circular systems succeed, at the Future Fabrics Expo in London. During the panel it was highlighted that Paradise Textiles - Alpine Group's material science and innovation hub - is a great example of a manufacturer that’s leading the change and working to lessen or ease the burden of implementation. It was also noted that, as an industry, we often assume that manufacturers as a stakeholder will just do what is needed for a brand, but clearly that has not always worked and it’s important for supply chain actors like Paradise, to be part of the conversation and part of the scaling journey. Lewis E. Shuler II shared examples of how Paradise Textiles is doing its part to be a pioneer in helping to create the collective change the industry needs: Bridging development into commercialization 1.    Innovators and fiber companies have focused on their technology, and we are working diligently to move these fibers into running fabrics and secure agreements with brands to switch to these preferred fibers. 2.    Incremental change is key. We are mindful that adopting sustainable products and practices is a journey, and that with each incremental change, we can help lessen impacts, whilst avoiding disrupting our brand partners’ operations or alienating their customers. 3.    As a manufacturer, we also have recycled fiber targets, so it’s important we are focused on the most progressive brands in this space, as it’s a reflection of our work too. 4.    Sudden, radical cost increases can be expensive and risky, which is why creative costing models across the entire value chain - to share the burden of higher costs - are important. 5.    Our point of view is lead the charge now, before regulations come into play; it’s a scramble for teams at brands to prepare for the regulations, which is why we are doing our part to ensure the supply chain side is set up for success. Textile recycling at our garment factories 1.    As we advocate for mono materials it becomes easier to manage off cuts at the garment factory. 2.    We work with a really high volume of materials that fit this bucket. 3.    Looking forward, we see big opportunities to manage post-industrial textile waste on site and turn it into new yarns, whilst complex blends will rely on our advanced recycling partners. Together, we look forward to making fashion fit for the future. #ThreadingtheFuture #ParadiseTextiles #Circularity
