Step-by-step instructions on how to accept your Offer of Admission

Accepting your offer

Received an offer? Congratulations! Here’s what’s next.

If you’ve received an offer, congratulations! We look forward to welcoming you to Adelaide University.

If you’re wondering what’s next, look no further. See our step-by-step guide below and visit our detailed guide to meeting the conditions of your offer to ensure you receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

We recommend you complete these steps as soon as possible, to allow plenty of time to apply for your student visa.

How to accept an offer as an international student

If your application is successful, you will receive an Offer of Admission. The next steps will depend upon whether you lodged your application with an Education Agent or directly via the Online Application System, and whether your offer is unconditional or conditional.

Education Agent or direct application

If you applied through an Education Agent, all you need to do is give them permission to accept the offer on your behalf.

If you applied directly, you need to log into the Online Application System and accept the offer yourself.

Unconditional offers

If you receive an unconditional offer, all you need to do is provide your signed Offer of Admission, a copy of your passport and pay your First Tuition Payment and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) (if applicable).

Conditional offers

If you receive a conditional offer, the conditions will be outlined in your Offer of Admission. You must fulfil all the conditions before you can accept your offer.

Conditions might include (but are not limited to):

  • Completion of academic qualifications, provision of official documents (e.g. original or certified copies of your documents or final academic results)

  • Satisfying our Genuine Student requirements.

When all your conditions are met, you (or your Education Agent) can accept the offer.

Please see your Offer of Admission for your specific conditions. For more information, see meeting the conditions of your offer or contact us if you have any questions.

Students under the age of 18 years

Visa conditions require that international students under 18 years of age have their accommodation and welfare arrangements approved by the University, unless they are living with an adult family member. The University will also be monitoring your academic progress.

If you are an international student under 18 years of age and you will not be living with a parent, legal guardian or a nominated eligible relative who is over the age of 21 years in Australia, you must receive Adelaide University approval for your accommodation and welfare arrangements.

You will need to apply and be accepted to live at a residence approved by the University for the period of time you are under 18. You will not be allowed to change your accommodation without the prior approval of the University.

If you wish to live in Adelaide University approved accommodation, you can nominate this as part of your Offer of Acceptance. You must submit this form when accepting your Adelaide University offer.

You must have appropriate accommodation and welfare arrangements organised before you lodge a student visa application with the Department of Home Affairs. Once you have appropriate accommodation arranged, Adelaide University can issue a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) letter with your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

For more information, please refer to the Department of Home Affairs website.

You need to pay the First Tuition Payment in the Online Application System. This payment will be processed through our preferred online and secure payment provider, Flywire. Contact Flywire Customer Support if you need help. You will also need to organise your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

First Tuition Payment

The First Tuition Payment is 50% of the first year's tuition fees. This amount is specified in your Offer of Admission.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is compulsory for all international students. You can purchase cover through Adelaide University’s preferred provider in the Online Application System, or you may choose your own third-party supplier. If you choose a third-party provider, you must provide proof of your cover when you accept your offer in the Online Application System.

Once you have finalised your payment (or provided your documentation), Adelaide University will be automatically advised, and we will confirm your acceptance.

You will need to upload a copy of the personal ID page and signature page in your passport and ensure your personal details (e.g. name, email) are up to date in the Online Application System, so that your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) can be correctly issued.

After we have received your acceptance of admission in the Online Application System, along with your First Tuition Payment and OSHC (if applicable), the University will send you or your Education Agent your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). This typically takes 1-2 business days but may increase during peak times.

Either you or your Education Agent will use the CoE to apply for your Australian student visa. If you hold an alternative visa which allows unlimited study rights, please advise this at the time of acceptance.

Changing your enrolment

If you defer, suspend, or cancel your enrolment, this may result in the cancellation of your Confirmation of Enrolment and it may affect your student visa.
