Position: Materials Estimator Location: Watertown, SD (on-site position) About the Role: As a Materials Estimator at Spartronics, you'll play a pivotal role providing accurate and detailed quotes and work order costs to our customers.
You'll be responsible for working directly with our internal materials and programs teams to coordinate the transition of customer products.

What a typical day looks like: Customer Management: Use of Quote/Win(Polydyne), Oracle, NPI data base, Agile.
Aegis , Cost Model and RFQ checklist to prepare quotations for customers.
Set up Cost Model to establish pricing for final quotation package for presentation to customer.
Compare bills of materials with assembly prints and complete labor analysis.
Identify component problems (form, fit or function) that will be either resolved or listed as exceptions on a quote.
Access the Internet to gain information that is useful for quoting.
Access company MRP system to identify bills of materials, purchase history for materials, stock status of materials, etc.
for quote preparation.
Maintain the quote-master file to include all of the information gathered during the preparation of a customer quote.
Coordinate with Engineering to determine panelization, tooling requirements and test for every assembly/product.
Coordinate with teams for New Product Introduction.
Continually review the quotation model utilizing feedback from Manufacturing for refinement of the labor quoting procedures (includes time studies).
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements: The experience we’re looking for to add to the team: 2+ years of education or experience in a similar or related position ideally within a materials, manufacturing or electronics environment preferred.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have a basic understanding of MRP processes.
Print/technical data sheet knowledge preferred.
Component identification knowledge preferred.
Must be familiar with the basic elements of a manufacturing organization and ability to interdepartmentally collaborate.
Good organizational and administrative abilities and possess effective written and oral communication skills.
