Mariah Carey's backup dancer beau Bryan Tanaka is breaking his silence!
E! News caught up with the singer and her new man last night at her official Mariah's World premiere party and Tanaka wasn't shy when it came to gushing over Mimi.
"I've always had a thing for Mariah. I love her so much," Tanaka told us exclusive at the bash, which was held at Catch NYC. "Just make sure you tune in to the show and you'll see kind of how everything happens."
"We've been friends for a long time," Tanaka added with a smile. "I do a little dance move here and there and we have a good time. It will be fun."
As for what makes their relationship so special, Tanaka added, "Something connected with us back in the day and there was just a mutual admiration. She saw something in me that I actually didn't recognize at first, from that it was over. It was set in history that we were gonna be connected some way, some how."
Meanwhile, Mariah was a little more coy about their relationship. When asked if we'll see Tanaka putting the moves on her this season on Mariah's World, she teased, "I don't know. We'll have to wait and see."
The "Heartbreaker" songstress did open up about their longtime friendship though. "It's really nice, especially when you've worked with somebody in the past and then you get to work with them again and just see how everybody's grown creatively and all that," Mariah said of reconnecting with Tanaka.
In a previously released promo for Mariah's World, MC's manager Stella is overheard talking about Tanaka's "huge crush" on Mariah. "What are we gonna do with him?" Stella wonders.
Fast forward to last week when Mariah and Tanaka were photographed getting their PDA on during a vacation in Hawaii!
On last night's Mariah's World premiere, Tanaka shed some light into their decade-long friendship. "It was about 2005-2006 is when I first met Mariah Carey," he explained. "I was a young buck, I was this green rookie when I first worked with her."
Since their first meeting, Tanaka said that "so many things have happened" over the years.
"I grew up, I turned into a man and she's gone through so much," he added. "I think it's gonna take some time for us to get back to that comfortabiltiy where we were just homies, where we could just talk."
