Subject: man bootparm: mention grub, and correct kernel-parameters.txt location
Date: Fri, 19 Nov 2010 21:09:52 +0800
X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected],[email protected]
Package: manpages
Version: 3.27-1
Severity: wishlist
File: /usr/share/man/man7/bootparam.7.gz
We see
The LILO program (LInux LOader) written by Werner Almesberger is the
most commonly used.
The other commonly used Linux loader is 'LoadLin'
Please mention grub.
Also say that kernel-parameters.txt is at
/usr/share/doc/linux-doc-*/Documentation/kernel-parameters.txt.gz
in addition to /usr/src/linux/Documentation/kernel-parameters.txt if
indeed at the latter at all these days.

The text on LILO and LoadLin is indeed crufty. I have simply removed all of
that text, and briefly mentioned GRUB as an example of a boot loader.

I'm not sure what you mean with this piece.
Documentation/kernel-parameters.txt is certainly alive and well in my 3.9
source tree...
Cheers,
Michael

Done. Thanks for spotting that.
